The hotel Wolmar is located a 5-minute walk from the centre and the Old Town of Valmiera. It offers accommodation with free Wi-Fi and cable TV. The hotel offers rooms with private bathroom facilities.... Excellent hotel with perfect service. Polite stuff, nice rooms, nice environment and excellent breakfast. Hotel looks quite new, so rooms are not worn out, still looks quite new inside. Wifi working excellent. Small restaurant in hotel is very nice.
Featuring a garden and free WiFi, Hotel Naktsmajas is located in Valmiera, 50 metres from Vidzeme Olympic Centre. Built in 2003, the property is within 2.7 km of Valmiera Culture Centre. The hotel is amidst a large sporting area and is ideal for teams to stay while at an event. We felt like on a sports tour, however in an empty hotel, as barely a room was booked. The rooms were spacious and it was quiet due to the circumstances.

Boasting river views, City center Gauja apartment features accommodation with a patio and a kettle, around 200 metres from Valmiera St. Simon's Church. We loved this place so much we are hoping we will be able to book it for next and other years too!! Location couldn’t have been more perfect, so central yet so quiet, spacious, clean, modern and so comfortable, especially when travelling with children and need that extra bit of space! And such a great value for money, we have paid much more for not as great apartments before. Thank you!!!
Set in central Valmiera, Domus Boutique apartment is made by Latvian designers. The unit is 300 metres from Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences, while shopping centre Valleta is 200 metres away. Everything, couldn't wish more. Even coffee was available in the kitchen.
Quiet, beautiful, clean and with a very nice atmosphere. There is wonderful theater, good restaurants (Rates Varti is my favorite), nice parks, quiet and clean streets, museum, church... near Valmiera there is a wonderful park along Gauja river. There are many places to see!
We came to Valmiera for a concert of Auli (the amazing Latvian bagpipe and drum band) and Lucas muiza, being close to the centre, yet in the nature, was just a perfect place to stay. We didn´t come to Valmiera for Valmiera, but for to rest, enjoy food, walk and enjoy music. This short weekend trip was just perfect for us. The sauna after concert was also just what we needed. The hotel was private and small, quiet in the night.
Valmiera is great town with many parks, river Gauja, shops , cinema and culture centre. It's easy to get around on public transport or foot. Train or bus journey from Riga takes two hrs, also has good connections with nearest towns. We went on bus to Valka and Valga, towns on Latvian. Estonian border, to Sajutu parks with great walk on Baskaju taka, cinema, museum and old castle park. Also in short distance by car is Sietiniezis, beautiful sandstone rock formation, Burtnieku lake and old manor park, Purezers with diverse bog and forest walking trail.
A large town of around 30,000 in the Latvian countryside about an hours and halve drive from Riga. A very central town to use as a base to explore country side Latvia which is what we needed. Valmiera has all fascilities that is required when traveling. So much history and many sightseeing opportunities available. We have a hire car. We would stay in Valmiera again as we also didn't have the time to explore Valmiera itself as we had family commitments in the towns of Aloja, Matsi & Cesis.
Lovely little town, not too far from Estonian boarder. Loads of nice cafes and restaurants to eat at, like Jauna Saule, Rates Varti, Wolmar and Bastions. A few miles out of the town is a hotel and restaurant called Mazais Ansis- an amazing place to eat, sleep and enjoy water sports.
It was nice to explore where my father grew up and reuniting with family. Climbing up the church tower to the top was an experience through the narrow staircase. The food in all the restaurants was terrific and the beer excellent.
This is an excellent place within walking distance of downtown Valmiera (through an enjoyable hiking path). We really enjoyed the inside fireplace and outside entertaining area. It's perfect for group get togethers, and I we look forward to coming back again!
