Ouarzazate boasts lush landscapes with ochre-colored kasbahs camouflaged in the arid mountain landscape and veritable palm oases at its foothills. The unique landscape has served as the setting for numerous films, including Lawrence of Arabia, The Mummy, Black Hawk Down, Babel, and Gladiator. It is home to the headquarters of the Atlas Corporation, the world's largest film studio, and also houses a film museum that can be visited.

With Studios to visit one day and Ait Benhaddou the next.

With Studios to visit one day and Ait Benhaddou the next. While each place takes half day each to visit take two days and enjoy the relaxation around the hotel. Staying at The Atlas Studio Hotel your next door to the studios. But a drive for anywhere else

We were disappointed in Ouarzazate.

We were disappointed in Ouarzazate. It is cosmopolitan city but the area around was quite dismal. Unfortunately like so many places in Morocco, a country we love, it is drowning in rubbish. The highlight was visiting Ait Ben Haddou.

Not only is Ouarzazate a pretty nice and vibrant place, there is much to explore around such as NooR, the most massive solar power station of the world, Atlas studios or Fint oasis. Recommended restaurants are La Datte d' Or, Ovelix and Habous patisserie.

It is more laid back and less touristy than Marrakech.

It is more laid back and less touristy than Marrakech. It's different culturally than Casa, Kech, or Tangier and has some unique attractions in and out of town. Oh, and don't forget to get the ghraiba cookies (like a pecan sandy) at Habbous in the main town square - the best I've had in the whole country.

Excellent and delicious breakfast in a beautiful setting! The owner of the Hotel is so personable and knowledgeable of the area. He also designed and created this most beautiful hotel with natural elements and with memorabilia of the movies filmed Morocco. The BEST shower and water pressure. Great location to get to all the sights. I loved that each bedroom is named with a different word translated into 18 languages.

This is a beautiful, stylish and quiet hotel. My friends and I arrived after a week of touring Morocco. When we got to the Kasbah, we immediately canceled our touring plans. Everyone agreed that lounging at the pool here was a much better use of time! DEFINITELY splurge for a superior room - the views and balcony access are worth the extra funds. The restaurant also serves excellent food and wine.

Lovey and clean hotel. Staff very friendly apart domestic people. Not far from bus stop where you can get bus to Ouarzazate centre. Or taxi is an option too. We love to explore local bus and get that feelings like locals. Tasty tagines in restaurant.
