United StatesIt was an absolute pleasure staying at Fontana. Reception immediately reached out to us after we booked the room and they were able to accommodate our early check-in and provided us detailed information about reserving us a spot in their parking garage. When we arrived, the hotel's owner and staff were exceptionally cordial and made sure that all of our needs were met. The hotel is centrally located in the heart of Budva with the old town located just a few minutes away and endless coastline in the other direction. There is a convenience store, large shopping mall, and countless beach-side restaurants within a 5 minute walking radius. The hotel itself has a wonderful restaurant located at the bottom floor, as well as a bakery/cafe and wine bar. Our room was very clean and spacious with a sizeable living room, bedroom, bathroom, and balcony. Located on the 4th floor, the view of the sea was remarkable, especially during sunrise and sunset. Breakfast has a great variety of food including fresh fruits, local cold-cuts and cheeses, warm dishes such as fried calamari and sausages, as well as fried eggs or omelets made to order. When we informed reception of our early 4am checkout, they packed us a lunch box for breakfast. We couldn't have asked for a better experience

Really liked the small old town in Budva.
Really liked the small old town in Budva. It doesn't get too many tourists ( like Kotor) so is less crowded and more tranquil. I didn't like the fact you had to pay to walk along a part of the walled town. There are lots of small food places there (selling pizza, sandwiches, byreks, cakes), which is great and absent in lots of these type of places.

It is nice place during the major season because it is in the middle of many things like Kotor or beaches south from Budva or National Parks. It is not as crowded as Kotor and you can have nicer visit.

Old town was nice (smaller than Kotor, but cute). The Citadel has great views, but costs 5,50 euros to just walk up to the wall - it had two closed restaurants/cafes and nothing else to see. We didn't feel it was worth it.

Budva, like the other cities in Montenegro, is a fantastic place, nice beaches, a very beautiful old town,has a lot of water activities and night life is brimming . It is indeed a destination worthy of travelling for both young and old. Just be ready with lots cash because most of the shops and restaurants there only accepts cash. There are ATMs everywhere but there are charges.
Transportation wise, if you are just in Budva, everything is walking distance, going to the beach or the old town, there are just minutes away. But, if you want to visit other places, taking a bus is the most effective way, it's cheaper than taking a taxi where the driver will ask a ridiculous price. Just go to the bus station and buy the tickets there in cash, don't buy them online because once you arrive at the bus station, they will ask you to print it otherwise it's null and void, they have printing servie there but it's gonna be another pay (1 euro per print).

We choose Hotel Montenegro for our honeymoon.
The hotel and also the room were all clean and tidy as it mentioned on booking.
The staff was helpfull in all the way.
The beach is free, clean and you can order anything online without standing up your lounge chair. Indoor pool and the sauna are not quite showy but enough and neat.
Also the open buffet breakfast had a wide variety of delicatessen products

Overall, the hotel was amazing and made our stay in Montenegro even better. We loved this place and will definitely come back to this hotel.

Rooms are larger than average hotel rooms, try asking the reception for a large one on higher floor. Breakfast has more variety than on average seen in Montenegro. Smoking allowed on (large) balcony. Convenient direct access to shopping mall with supermarket.
