It's easy to reach other locations from Gzira by bus or ferry. City itself is not super beautiful, it has a nice coast but architecture-wise it's a lot of everything but other cities were way more beautiful. But the positive side of this is that it's cheaper to stay there as in other areas.

Il-Gżira charms visitors with its scenic waterfront...
Il-Gżira charms visitors with its scenic waterfront promenade, The Strand, offering stunning views of Marsamxett Harbour. Independence Gardens provide a tranquil oasis amidst the urban bustle, while Duck Village adds a quirky touch appreciated by nature lovers.
Getting around Il-Gżira is convenient thanks to its compact size and accessible transportation options. Walking is ideal for exploring local attractions, while public buses and taxis offer easy access to neighboring areas and tourist spots.
While Il-Gżira has much to offer, visitors should be mindful of crowded areas along The Strand, especially during peak tourist seasons. Exercise caution against pickpocketing in crowded spots and avoid swimming in unauthorized areas for safety reasons.

Great neighborhood, lots of restaurants, grocery stores, shops, very walkable. Busses are a few blocks away and there is street parking if you can find it but I’d not choose to drive. Easy to get to Valletta, much more difficult to get to the ferry to Gozo. Go to Mdena, it’s amazing. Wander round Valletta. Stay longer than you think as there is lots to see and do. Great country! Ali Baba is a great Lebanese restaurant in the hood. Lunch at Grain, a Michelin Bib, is an excellent value and a terrific meal.

Great to have the ferries so close, so a ferry tour with iSeeMalta to Gozo and Comino is totally worth every cent. There are so many restaurants and pubs in the main street for everyone's taste. Promenade was lovely, with a view of Valletta and a nice bay area.
If you're in doubt, where to stay, I would recommend this area - compared to Valletta there's a bit less tourists, so more space to move around and a bit more greenery, also better access to other parts of the islands without sitting in traffic too long.
Lokali Rooms was one of the best places we stayed in the last few years. Mr. Carmelo was extremely helpful during all our time in Lokali. The bedroom was comfortable, providing travelers who want (or need) to stay in a good option. Both room and bathroom are accessible for those with low mobility. Our room had a fridge, a good thing when the hotel does not provide breakfast options, and a safe without additional charge. Internet was stable and fast. Going back to Malta, we will probably try to find a place there again.
Everything was great! AC working, nice bed, clean and spacious room. Room was cleaned everything day to the perfection. Huge shower! And breakfast was incredible! Everything that you would like to eat and more! All the food was delicious and service was even more better. Location of the hotel is also great! Few steps to bus station, couple of minutes walking to coast and restaurants. Wonderful place! Would greatly suggest this place to everyone looking for a place in Malta! Best 3 star hotel you will ever be in! ❤️💪
Staff were so kind and helpful. Special thanks to manager Ron who took time to assist us with tour hints and suggestions. Hotel rooftop deck and bar with incredible views towards Valletta was fabulous. Really the best location away from commercialised Siena. Easy to get bus to Valletta or walk back from Siena ferry (about 1 km). Great Sicilian restaurant next door and Dave’s 24:7 mini mart up street. Room was spacious, clean towels every day, the most comfortable bed. Really made our stay in Malta so relaxing.
Nice and clean hotel and room at good place in Sliema. The bed was comfortable, the whole room and bathroom is good size. Breakfast was diverse and tasty, they had gluten-free bread also. Several shops are around, you can walk anywhere in Sliema in a few minutes (there is good nightlife here). Valletta is also close, but I suggest the bus/car to there. Basically, it was perfect for our three days trip in Malta.
Super hotel in super location. Brand new. Fresh design. Super staff. Excellent. Couldn't be happier. Highly recommended!!
Facilities are 5 star. I was shown the roof top pool area with views of valletta by the owner which is opening soon. Will definitely visit again to experience the vibe which I think will be amazing judging by what I was told
Definitely a hundred times better than any 4 star in Malta.
We really loved our stay at Urban Isle Hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Also, the room was very tidy and modernly equipped. The breakfast was indeed very good, tasty and fresh. The Hotel was 1 min far from a bus station that took us to Valleta or to Sliema or up on the island. Great location, great sorroundings with plenty of restaurants to choose from.
The biggest and best impression of the hotel is a very kind and nice girl named Hristina, with a big and pleasant smile, who was there for everything we needed during our stay in Malta, and to answer all our questions. She best represents the hotel and is the biggest reason why we would return to this hotel.
Hotel was great value for money and well located. Rooms are a good size, come with safe, hairdryer, tea and coffee machines and free bottles of water each day. Pillows were very firm and would be the only thing needing improvement. Malta is a super noisy place (bin menfor 30mins at 4/5am), so bring earplugs.
The staff it was Very friendly helpfuly and polite. The breakfast it was very very good. The location is best for Malta, with all stores and bar restaurants across the street. The bus station is front of the hotel. Hotel is only 20 minutes from the airport. The price is very good for what the hotel offer!
Owner is suuuper nice and friendly person. Enviroument is cute and chill. Hamrun is very central city(10 min by bus from capital.Buses are freaquent). Ideal if you are planning to visit all around Malta and go to to rest in peace at your staying place. But not for attractions in it
The apartament was clean, well located and equipped with almost everything you need for your stay.
Communication with the host was very good also.
If we come back in Malta , we will chose the same location.
First time in Malta, and this was home away from home.
Clean, quiet, secure, helpful staff. Close to multiple restaurants. Easy access to public transportation.
Definitely will stay there again when in Malta.
Apartment Elise is spacious, comfortable, equipped with air conditioning. A very good place to explore Malta. Bus stops and shops nearby. Easy contact with the owner, I recommend Maria from Poland
nothing, it was one of the few hotels available in Malta for the requested period and even if rate was not very good I wanted to try as it was only for 1 night but.... no way
great value for money, in a lively area of Malta, close to bars/restaurants.
easy access to public transportation and rooms facing the bay have a wonderful view !
