Offering an outdoor pool, restaurant and sun terrace, Hotel Kappara is set on a hill in San Gwann. All spacious rooms come with an LCD TV with cable channels. Sliema is 1.9 mi away. Hotel staff was super friendly. I had a room with a balcony amd the view was perfect. It was able to see Valletta with historical monuments. Hotel also has a clear pool and tasty continental breakfast. I can recommend this accommodation to students, because it is 5 minut walk to the University.

Set in San Ġwann, Brand New Lvl 1 Apartment in the Heart of San Gwann, provides accommodations with a flat-screen TV and a kitchen. Free WiFi is featured throughout the property. Excellent host and fantastic apartment. Very clean and all the facilities needed were available. The host was very good at communicating all relevant information and was very helpful
The hotel itself was lovely. However, the cleanliness of the rooms was shocking for a 4star hotel, it was at a standard I would expect from a 2star hotel. Cleaning staff would not refresh the towels or change the sheet, they tried to cut back on alot of corners and when complained to management they spent the rest of my visit giving me stern looks because they got in trouble. Was not a pleasent stay
San Gwann is a suburb of Valetta with actually not much to do. Nevertheless, it serves very well as a base for daily adventures and excursions to other parts of the island while at the same time is very close to both Saint Julian and Valetta. A number of small restaurants, cafeterias and supermarkets are in the area that can satisfy your daily needs.
A busy center which serves well as a refuel hub. Great food and just enough shops . . The highlights in my opinion are the Mensija chapel and cart ruts, located in the quiter part of San Gwann, and my favorite . . . visiting the valley crossing from San Gwann to Paceville. It's only ok as it is sometimes too busy/hectic.
The town itself is lovely and local, not touristy at all. Buses to Valletta are frequent, but not so much to other places as they often do not turn up or full therefore do not stop. So consider travel time when going anywhere.... we ate out a couple of times, one place Cafe Coral was nice and the portions were very generous. Food and drink in area nice and tasty, plenty of shops to go self catering. Some lovely buildings and people were helpful and pleasant. Nice place....did some local walking to get our bearings, but travelled into the main towns most of the time so that we could access the places we really wanted to see. Good base for relaxation and if you want to blend with the locals.
San Gwann itself was a lovely, local town with plenty of local shops and a supermarket for self catering, regular bus service to Valetta, not so regular with other areas. People were helpful and pleasant. We ate out twice, once at Cafe Coral - food and drink in the area was really nice and quite big portions. Had a few local walks to take in the place and area. It is not touristy at all, so for activities you need to go to the bigger towns, but I was happy having a quiet, relaxing, local area as a base. Bus passes are a bargain, but buses don't always turn up or turn up on time, so make extra time for travelling. There was only two of us, so we hung out at the pool a couple of time, but weather wasn't always favourable, so we didn't get to use it as much as we would have liked, so that was disappointing. Some beautiful houses in the area too.
Calm residential town, without outstanding architecture/places. Still nice to wander, watch Maltese lifestyle. Town lies quite close to Valetta (many frequent buses) and party towns like Paceville/St Julians with beaches.
