Amery House, hotel in Sliema

Amery House is located in Sliema, a 11-minute walk from The Point Shopping Mall and 1.2 miles from Love Monument.

This boutique hotel is very ideally situated just off the main road of Sliema in a quiet street. The staff were very welcoming, hospitable and informative throughout our stay. Upon request, we were kindly allowed to check in an hour prior and an hour after the official check in and check out times. To celebrate our occassion, we were given a little treat upon entering our room which was greatly appreciated! Our room was clean, modern and had all the ammenities required from a fridge, iron, coffee machine and perfectly working AC. The beds were comfy aswell. The rooms were cleaned daily and fresh towels were also provided daily. The breakfast consisted of a very decent range of sweet and savoury items. There is also a coffee machine for those who need their morning latte/cappucino fix. There’s a Lidl closeby and plenty of other shops and Restaurants within walking distance of this hotel. If you’re getting a bus transfer from the Airport to the hotel, then note that ‘Ghadir’ is the stop to get off at in Sliema to get to the hotel. Allow approximately an hour from or to the Airport if using the bus transfer service in peak times.

The rooftop patio is amazing! Really spacious and relaxing seating options. Bathroom is huge with a beautiful rain shower. There’s also a small kitchen stocked with the import things. The staff are incredibly friendly and really quick to respond to requests and questions. They helped me setup Champagne upon arrival for my husband’s birthday and even surprised us by decorating the room with balloons and flowers. Highly recommend if you’re staying in Sliema.

FAQs about hotels in Sliema

A Sassy and Lively City In The Heart of Malta

Scenic and energetic, Sliema is perched on the limestone banks of the Mediterranean Sea in the historic and charming island of Malta. It is a perfect coastal holiday destination and ideal base to discover the Maltese Islands.

A short drive from Sliema, Cirkewwa Ferry Terminal offers direct services to Comino and Gozo, which are great for sightseeing, diving, swimming and the unique boat trip around Blue Lagoon.

Discover Malta, from the marvellous Tarxien Temples, to the traditional and colourful boats and fusions of freshly cooked seafood in Marsaxlokk. Afterwards head to Malta's gems, Mdina and Rabat, then around to the belt of Malta, Valletta which features baroque architecture, historic museums and magnificent views from Fort St Elmo over, and beyond Valletta Harbour.

Sliema and St Julian’s narrow streets are lined with numerous high-rise hotels, shops, restaurants and cafés, whilst the pumping beats of Paceville’s nightclubs and bars offer a lively nightlife, which often turns into sunrise.

Booking.com offers accommodation across Malta and Gozo and around popular landmarks such as the National Museum of Archaeology and the glittering waterfronts of Spinola Bay and Ghadira Bay.

Sliema is a nice town, it would be more suited to those who don't mind being in a busy part of the island. Where choose to eat and drink in Surfside and Compass Lounge amongst others. While the beach is a rocky bay, this didn't cause any issues both Surfside and Exilse have areas to get into the sea via a ladder. Due to the size of the group, we would often order bolt taxis which were very cheap or walk to the nearby locations. You can easily walk around Sliema by either cutting through the middle or walking along the coast. However, wear comfortable shoes.

Sliema is a great place to stay, it's reasonably centrally located on the Island, and access is easy to all attractions, with most busses going to Valletta; the public transport hub. Loads of lovely restaurants right on the water's edge, good food, affordable prices, fabulously long and beautiful promenade (great for walks and early-morning runs!), and plenty shopping opportunities in Sliema. We love staying there!

Great restaurants - Lou's Bistro was amazing and the cocktails were strong. Loads of very tasty pastry takeaway places with interesting fillings. I had a tuna, pea and spinach one which was delicious. Easy place to get around. Buses are very regular as is the ferry to Valletta and taxis are also reliable. Malta is an amazing place for very ancient history. I visited the Hal Saflieni Hypogeum (a bucket list choice) but this needs to be booked well in advance of your stay. I booked 2 months ahead and had limited choice of times even as a solo. The museum of archaeology is also well worth a visit as are all the temple sites. Visit 'heritage Malta' website for tickets to these places. Valletta is a lovely place to visit but maybe difficult if you have mobility issues as it is extremely hilly though the views are spectacular from the high points in the city. Well worth the trip to Gozo and Comino too though I didn't get to swim in the blue lagoon as the weather was too rough that day. Not the place if you are looking for a beach holiday as there are barely any beaches around Malta. I need to go back as I there are many places I didn't get to visit. A great place for people of all ages.

Sliema is a great location for your stay, because there is a great connection into every direction. You are close to Valetta without the "Valletta accommodation prices" plus a great access to lovely beaches which Valletta lacks unfortunately. There are a few great restaurants in that area, plenty of opportunities to book lovely trips around Malta and Gozo and even to Sicily. If you like to purchase some souvenirs, you will also find everything you need right here. There are some more affordable spots in Sanglea though, which is also worth a visit. Sliema seems to be the obvious choice for many which drives the prices as well, of course.

Sliema is a peaceful and quiet tourist city.

Sliema is a peaceful and quiet tourist city. The beaches and the sea were very good. You can walk and jog in the evening calm. Likewise, you can swim in the sea at sunrise or jog with other people. There are lots of food options. The number of markets is very good. The price balance is perfect, it is a place with average prices and of course it is a very safe city.
