THANK YOU SO MUCH SeaStar Hotel!!! • ♡ We came to Mauritius to celebrate out honeymoon and stayed at a 5* resort the week earlier in Belle Mare. We left feeling so defeated having paid so much for a hotel where we did not enjoy our stay or feel we had recieved value for how much we had paid. Thankfully we found SeaStar hotel and decided to move the remaining 5 days of our honeymoon to the south west side of the island which was the only place with sunshine (best decision we made!) So if you want an amazing stay and memorable experience you won't regret, especially if you're looking to go to Mauritius off peak- then SeaStar hotel is an incredible (the) place to stay ♡ Hotel Location/weather/proximity: This side of the island is just stunning with picturesque moutain views you will experience when driving into Flic-en-flac. The hotel is easy to find and also pretty- newly rennovated from both in and outside. The vibe is incredibly welcoming and we felt safe and at home the moment we walked in. Upon arrival we were greeted with smiles and with refreshing drinks made by Josan at the bar also located by the reception. The hotel manager (the coolest manager you will ever meet) then personally took the time to explain where we can find shops, restaurants, malls ext. The beach is easy to locate - just down the road (4 minute walk) and was one of the best beaches we have ever snorkled at. You also have a supermarket (Jumbo) between the hotel and the beach which is incredibly convenient! Jumbo is a great reference point if you want to take a taxi to the hotel as the hotel is relatively new. Everyone in this area speaks good English/French and you have several ATM machines and stores nearby. You also have tour operators you can book, including one up from the hotel - Turquoise Voyages/Sam tours who booked a wonderful trip for us to the National park. The hotel also arranges activities and a car rental service with drop off at the airport available.

Located 197 feet from a beautiful beach in Flic En Flac, this charming hotel offers a spa with 2 hot tubs, steam bath, massages and an outdoor pool.

The staff was simply amazing. We had previously booked at a different place nearby and we was extremely disappointed. Our taxi driver told us about Aanari and they were kind enough to accommodate us at the very last moment and made us feel so comfortable. A great guy, Nathan who is an employee at Aanari Hotel was kind enough to navigate us through the country! Bonus points just because Flic en Flac Beach is just opposite the road with many food outlets and ATM's plus the bar at night is such a vibe.

Tamarina Golf and Spa Boutique Hotel is the gateway to a thousand other destinations, to discovering Mauritius’ culture and landscapes in all of their beauty and majesty...

I will rate the service 10/10. The staffs provide such an amazing service that for the first time of my life, I didn't have a complain, my husband was astonished too by the service. The staff was very nice to my parents, to myself, the reason Im stating this is because we are Mauritian and sometime because of being local, most hotel staffs tends to forget that we are paying for the same service as a foreign tourist and lack to give the local the proper service. I paid for one night and extend for a second night. Value for money. The place is clean and they really accommodate for your needs. The staffs at the restaurant will watch every step, clean your table or plate, pull the chair for you to sit, without asking, and help you to carry plates. The Spa was also a wonderful experience. I took the beach front view, is where you get the best view of the resto, beach

They have a problem with people parking in the beach car...

They have a problem with people parking in the beach car park opposite the appartment and playing window rattling music till all hours ie 3 to 4 am . I had to ring the police a few times but it did no use . There is a big billboard in the carpark advising of a 10,000mru fine if caught but it had no effect . They parked next to it . Some locals decided to tell them off one night at 3am and the result wes that there was an all in brawl in the street under the appartment window and someone was critically stabbed and put in hospital . And I won`t even bother with the nightclub next door that goes till the same hours !

We hired a car which was very reasonably priced and driving was easy with GPS. Local restaurants were good - we particularly liked Reef and Beef. Local grocery stores within driving distance at Jumbo's or Winners in Cascavelle Mall. Weather was beautiful and sunny In September and not too hot. We loved Mauritius and would recommend visiting to other tourists.

It's a very lively beach. Lots of locals attended the beach. However, tourists also got their own space to sunbathe and swim. There were caravans selling local foods. Lots of restaurants and close to a huge shopping centre.

Mauritius is such a tiny island, I don’t think it would matter where you stayed as the public transport seemed very good and with a car you could get anywhere within about an hour. However, I can imagine that Flic en Flac would suit most tourists because it has an exceptionally long beach and facilities for eating all along the costal road that skirts it and a good supermarket and shops. There are also good standard public toilets and loungers and umbrellas to hire but similarly plenty of shady spaces from the palm trees if you’re happy to just lie out on your beach towel. Mauritians appear to be very family orientated so on weekends the beach is taken over by large family groups and can be quite noisy but you haven’t got to go far to escape this if that isn’t your preference.

Flic-en-Flac has a really stunning beach, with tons of parking and very easily accessible. It is very popular over the weekend, so it gets very busy and loud. I would not recommend staying anywhere near Coastal Road, as there are buses and motorbikes that drive along there all day and night, making it a very noisy area to stay in. It is also very overcrowded with apartments. We had a terrible experience with the host of the apartment we rented. I would recommend to others to rather stay in Tamarin or Riviere Noire. You will pay the same price but have a much nicer place to stay.
