Kaani Grand Seaview, hotel in Maafushi

Situated in South Male Atoll, 25 km from Male City, Kaani Grand Seaview is a beach front property that features a spa centre, fitness centre and a conference room.

Everything was excellent about this place. Our king suite on the seventh floor was the biggest room in the hotel. It had a living space and bedroom space with double balcony overlooking the bikini beach. The Indian restaurant Avelli on ground floor serve basic breakfast but excellent lunch and dinner with a lot of items on the menu. My special thanks to all staff who always greeted us with a smile. Our special thanks to reception staff Kani and Tiger for looking after us so well. They organised our water activities including All in one trip with ship wreck and snorkelling with the nurse sharks and lunch at sandbank. These have left such good memories to cherish for the rest of our life.We were allowed to use the pool at Kaani palm on one occasion. Thank you Kani for arranging this. The Saturday beach party organised by the hotel is excellent. They are many eateries near the hotel serving all sorts of delicious food.Free beds are available at bikini beach and drinks and food items can be ordered at reasonable prices. We had brilliant 6 times at Kaani Grand. Thank you all

I have not visited other islands to compare but Maafushi has been accommodating and offers a variety of food options and hospitable people. There was just too much construction going on which ruined the Island vibe. Maafushi can be explored completely in 3 hours max. I walked around saw everything i could including locals houses. It is 30 minutes by speedboat for $25 to Male. You can ask for help from anyone. They are all helpful people. Please respect the culture.

Maafushi was the last stop on our 9-island-hopping Maldives...

Maafushi was the last stop on our 9-island-hopping Maldives trip, and after staying on much quieter local islands, in small guesthouses, Maafushi was a shock to the system! Maafushi itself is very touristy, neon signs and cheap souvenirs, high rise buildings and building work going on everywhere, water sports vendors line the road, restaurants were twice the price and half as good as other local islands, and the call to prayer was replaced with house music and Bob Marley. As one of the first local islands opened to tourists, it has that "Thailand backpackers from 20 years ago" feel to it which is exactly what we were there to experience. There's two big hotel chain names on the island, both with multiple hotels, and their own shops, restaurants, water sports, and excursion vendors. We enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend if you're looking for a Maldives hotel experience at a fraction of the cost of the resorts with lots of holiday activities to choose from.

Small little island with best-in-class customer service.

Small little island with best-in-class customer service. Few selection of hotels, few selection of restaurants, but overall perfect for a 3 to 5 day trip with tourist activities. I got to swim with sharks, turtles and stingrays for a very low price! As low as $35 USD for a full day tour with Kaani.

There are people from many countries there, Mostly locals run the water activities and pastry shops. Food is a bit expensive. Don't forget to try parasailing which takes you to a magnificent view from the sky. We were lucky to see Dolphins even while we were riding the JetSki. Sharks trip, Wrecked Ship, SandBank is must to see.

So many options to choose for dinning out, I actually came...

So many options to choose for dinning out, I actually came back with more money than i expected. i did everything that i wanted to do, days out you are spoilt for choice from so many companies. I personally used Icom for trips out, one reason as i was staying at the Icom Marina you get a discount, i also asked guests who had already been on days out about them. all feedback was positive. I for one will be returning. I read some reviews about the Party boat not being a good experience for them. I visited it 3 times and all i saw was a lot of people enjoying themselves and having a good time. as the saying goes "whatever floats your boat" There is building work on the Island but i can honestly say it never interfered with any aspect of my Holiday.

Maafushi was the first island we visited in Maldives. We loved this accommodation. The personal of the hotel was so careful and helped us with anything we asked, including the planing of the transport to the island. The room was clean, with a comfortable bed and a fresh smell. The breakfast was tasty and consistent, accompanied with coffee, tea and fresh juice everyday. The location is very good, 5 min walk to the bikini beach. Good restaurants nearby. Thank you for having us and hope to see you again soon!
