Staying on the hotel strip felt very safe, beaches are stunning, gorgeous white sand and warm aquamarine water, great shopping mall with lots of restaurants everywhere half way down, the bus service is super easy to use and reliable, easy to book tours and get picked up and returned to the resort. We did a day tour to XilHa water park and Tulum ruins which was cool and another self drive boat, jungle and snorkelling tour which was tons of fun. Also, the pools and beaches are so nice that you don’t need to leave the resort to just have fun and relax.

I typically visit Cancun in late Nov. and early Dec. and the weather is ideal - not too hot (highs of about 28C), nor too humid, and mostly sunny with little rain. It is very safe, even to walk the city centre and tourist areas at night. The public bus service is very inexpensive and frequent, between the city and the Hotel Zone. There is also bus/coach service between the city and airport (CUN), which is much less expensive than private taxi. There are plenty of restaurants and shops, from basic to high-end. The local people are very friendly and courteous. There are plenty of excursions to historic places of interest (Tulum), and for families (water parks and boating activities). There is a vibrant night-life near the dog-leg of the Hotel Zone.

Cancun was just a transfer point.
Cancun was just a transfer point. There to not much to like in Cancun itself. It is expensive. The beaches are crowded and very built up. There is a lot of traffic congestion. It is easy to get out of Cancun There is a great bus system, tours, the train. I spent my vacation in Yucatan. Loved it.

We have gone to Cancún repeatedly in the last years.
We have gone to Cancún repeatedly in the last years. Nizuc Resort and Spa was an outstanding experience. The concept of the hotel, its architecture, the restaurants, are all excellent. The staff makes you feel at home very quickly, from the first day everybody was calling us by our name, I really don't know how they manage that, but it feels good. They have several restaurants, Indochine and Ramona stand out. We repeated both of them in the 9 days that we stayed. We will definitely go back, I guess that is the best way to express how much we enjoyed it.

We flew into cancun for just one nights stay as we were getting the ferry to Cozumel the next day. Unfortunately our experience once outside the airport was not good. People bombarded us for business ie. Taxi drivers and tour guides was very overwhelming. We only needed to get to our hotel which was 2/3 minutes drive and the hotel was on the airport site. Despite this, several people tried to charge us extortionate rates to drive us less than 500 yards. One operator suggested that the free hotel shuttle bus we were entitled to use was broken and then pretended to phone our hotel in order to engage us into using her mini bus, which she said the hotel would refund us for having to use. She wanted $20 from us initially and then increased it to $40. As it turned out, it was all a pack of lies! The hotel had never heard of her when we got there and the hotel bus was in fact working! There are so many scammers waiting to take advantage that it’s quite shocking.

Place was ok for the wedding, but way to expensive for what we actually received. Also, at the airport had something to eat and it was priced in peso and when she told us the $ cost it was extremely more that what we were lead to believe. Felt we were ripped off. I would not go back to Cancun.

The location is suitable for people who want the vibe of a hotel with a personal touch. There's a small kitchenette with salt, pepper and oil. They also have pots, plates and cutleries to make it easy to make a meal yourself. It is self-service, so you're given a code, and once you come in, you sort everything else yourself. There is no room service available. They have a fridge with some water and drinks available. The area is close to the airport in Cancun. It is a good value for money.
I booked this for my GF who was traveling alone from chiapas to Toronto and had a stopover in Cancun. The area around the hotel is kinda sketchy because its near the airport but the hotel is totally safe and the people are really helpful. They will pick you up and drive you to the airport for half the price of the official taxi, and the room is big and comfortable. This is the only affordable option that's actually decent, highly recommended
Monica and her team made us feel really welcome, everything was nice and clean. There were bathrobes, slippers, beach bags and candles there for us. Breakfast was really exceptional. Although it's not in the hotel zone, we felt safe, the neighbourhood gave off real Cancun vibes, there were people dancing and singing every night. It was a bit hard to find the entrance, so it's recommended to use Google Maps.
This hotel represents good value for money. It is very clean, the bed was comfortable and shower was hot and spacious. It is a basic hotel that represents value as opposed to luxury, so don't be misled by the 4 stars. The shared kitchen is handy and the outside space is lovely. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend Villa Sofia for a short stay if passing through Cancun.
We were travelling on a budget, needing proximity to the airport for an early flight. Basic room and relatively cheaper than other more refined airport hotels in Cancun - ok value for the price charged.
