The town is very picturesque.
The town is very picturesque. Has a few view points to hike from the town. Near by have other little town that are very interesting to see. The geography of the area is very pretty. Mascota and the region are quite interesting.
Mascota and the region are quite interesting. There are a fair number of things to do and see in the area, but you need to work a bit to find them. Roads can be absolutely insane, but they're worth it for the views in some areas. People were generally friendly; a bit cautious until you greet them with a few words in Spanish. Mascota and the surrounding mountain areas are wonderful places to explore. It is well deserving of its selection as one of the Pueblos Mágicos of Mexico. I would advise an SUV if making a side trip up into to the mountains to visit the villages of Yuerba Buena, Cimmaron, Navidad, Juanacatlán, etc. because the roads can be rough, especially if driving all the way up to the Laguna de Juanacatlán.Guest review byDavidMexico

There is a tea/coffee and water station which was unusual and greatly appreciated. Our room was small, but fine for what we needed and great for our budget, and there are bigger rooms available.
