Miri offers a quick getaway from Brunei. Transportation via ride-sharing remains extremely affordable, like the rest of Malaysia. People here are nice but I would highly recommend learning more about their different cultures and respecting various practices. Taman Negara Bukit Lambir is beautiful. However, the transportation there is a bit difficult—the best way to get around there is to borrow a scooter. The beaches in Miri are not good; they are dirty, have a lot of trash, and are not suitable for swimming.
