A nice beach, but a little too crowded for my liking. Much nicer in the evening when you can sit with a drink and watch the fire show. Better to hire a scooter and try to find Langkawi's less touristy beaches. They do exist.

Rent a car once landed at the airport, it is economical. Several places would have free parking at Pantai Cenang area but some may have charges yet affordable and reasonable. Driving there is easy, safe to follow the google map routes. The area at Pantai Cenang is lively and good. A wide range of food options and scattering of retail shops. Some of the food and retail places were definitely at tourist prices. Lots of beach front activites and a few places where you can rent a beach chair/umbrella. A good selection of beach front resturants/cafes (usually within a hotel but open to public) It's a very busy beach down the left hand side - if you want a quiet part, head all the way down to the resort on the right. There is a small beach front bar in front of the resort and if you buy a drink, you can use the chairs and umbrellas. Oceanside cafe and resturant was good value for money and delicious food with a beach view. It's part of Malibest Resort. Mexican food at El Toro Langkawi - Mexican Bar & Grill was good but quite pricey. Had amazing breakfast at Satu Cinta Backstreet Coffeeshop - which is also a night club at night time. Also decent pricing. Main street is one way making crossing the road easy and grabs are easy to get any where near the area.

Plenty of water sports on the beach. Fire shows on the beach at night start about 7pm. Lots of shops, restaurants, bars etc. Best spot for first time visit to Langkawi. We bought cheap beer etc in the supermarkets and put in our room fridge. Get a local SIM card when you get there and download the Grab app so you can get cheap transport around the place. Underwater World Langkawi was really good and worth a visit, in the middle of Cenang. Favourite bars were Cinnamon's opposite Malibest Resort and Ah Chong's on the beach, 50m to the right of the Malibest.MMableson - Scored 8.08.0

Crowded with shops and motel/hotels. You can't see the beach from the roadside, compare to 10 years ago. However, Cenang is a tourist part of attraction. Easy access beach with lots of activities i.e music, shopping, water sport and more. It has everything you look for in an island
