Beautiful island with many things to see and do - snorkelling, diving, hiking, jungle tours. Some of the beaches were stunning, felt like we were in the Caribbean/South Pacific islands. As a local, I really hope that the beauty of the island will be preserved, there are still some parts of beach (on west coast) with trash and construction debris lying around, it would be great if these could be cleaned up. Sadly, much of the coral is also bleached, but this is a global phenomena. Perfect get away.
Perfect get away. I believe Covid shut down has drained a lot of reserves of the hotels and therefore a lot of necessary maintenance is postponed. There live 4,000 people on Tioman but there are during the 7 months of operation of the island way too many tourist to manage for these 4,000 people. It was great visiting Tioman Is.
It was great visiting Tioman Is. A great place to relax, explore marine life & flora. Some cafes offered local cuisine which was a delight, unlike the resort where I stayed. It’s worthwhile going on a snorkelling adventure. I just stayed at Genting. Although I made an attempt to walk to Paya, I didn’t get there as the terrain on the path became unsafe. I sought solace at Merlina Beach resort whereby staff & visiting teachers were extremely helpful & friendly. Mama’s Foodhouse is the best little restaurant. It is awesome trip for my family.
It is awesome trip for my family. The Island hopping trip with beautiful corals and lucky sighting of sea turtles swimming by, was the best. Short trek to the water fall on route to Juara beach was great experience. Marine park was a smaller than expected but good. It's quite bare bones, but does well what it's supposed to be doing. AC is cold, shower is warm, staff is friendly and accommodating. We didn't try breakfast but everyone else looked happy having it.
