The small, simple room was very clean (and so were the shared toilets/showers). The hotel has made an effort to make the place homey with a bit of decor inside the room and plants/decor throughout the property.. The wind and cold were fierce during our stay, so we were very grateful to have a good heater in our room (and they provide enough blankets). While the WIFI is only available in the reception/bar/restaurant area, it works well. Good to have a reasonably priced restaurant on site, as there are few eating options in Grunau (you can order your meals ahead to be ready at a certain time). We stayed for two nights while visiting Fish River Canyon as it is much more affordable than the places in/nearer the park (unless you are camping).

Excellent This is a true gem, beautiful and peaceful. Stephan and Liesl are so friendly and helpful. We had a lovely dinner and breakfast. The house is so nice and cozy. We will be visiting again soon.

I managed to check in before sunset this time and had a fabulous time dipping in the swimming pool to cool off. It's great to have space to take a walk to bring back blood flow and movement after the whole day of driving.

The place is amazing, great architecture and nature. Dear dog Aura took care of us. The host was fantastis. He unrolled the cover of the pool just for me. The feeling was great. The bier was not expensive.
