Guacimo is a place we will not forget! My husband and I spent 4 nights here and absolutely loved it. The staff arranged everything for us beforehand in terms of transportation (driver from Managua for a reasonable price, followed by a 2-hour boat ride) and it was well worth the journey. The staff are helpful and kind. Franklin was especially attentive and went above and beyond to make sure our trip was special. We did four of the available tours, which allowed us to see some local wildlife as well as spend time in a nearby town, El Castillo. Gustavo did our wildlife tours and we were so impressed with his knowledge of local flora and fauna. Highly recommend coming here!!

We were greeted at the port on our arrival and walked the short distance to the hotel. The hotel is situated in the center of the main walkway through town. Our room had a balcony overlooking the river. It was lovely to return to an air-conditioned room each day. Margarita and Manuel were exceptional hosts, willing to dispense advise and information about the area, and taking time to chat with us. Manuel organized tours into Indio Maiz and also night tours. They made arrangements with a local woman to prepare our dinners and delivered it to us at the hotel. When we both got sick with traveller's stomach, they looked out for us and arranged for supplies to be delivered to us. I highly recommend this location for your visit to El Castillo!
