The location to the airport and the rail station (next to the airport) is incredible, just a 10 minute walk. The receptionist was utmost friendly and helpful and so were the staff at the bar. The family room we had had a nice view on the airport and the room was very clean and spacious.

The stay at the hotel left behind a very pleasant experience. It was convenient to ride the shuttle bus that the hotel provides free of charge for its visitors. We rode every day (morning and evening) and the drivers were always on time. It took 13-15 minutes to get to the airport. The bus has lockers for luggage. The hotel staff was nice and polite. The room itself is very cozy, warm, and you can adjust the temperature yourself. Every day the room is cleaned and a new bottle of water is left in the room. The room also has a kettle, coffee machine, tea, coffee pods, iron and ironing board, chair, foot pouf, table and lamp, shoe spoon and other important items for traveling. Everything was clean and smelled nice. The beds were very comfortable and the blankets were warm. We lived on the last 7th floor and the view was picturesque. It was quiet and peaceful all around. The windows are wide to suppress noise. There were also thick curtains in the room, blocking out the light well. The internet worked quickly and without interruption. Lots of mirrors everywhere, which was very convenient, and also nice warm carpeting on the floor, which made the room even more cozy. Very nice hotel for a great price! Definitely recommend it!

Between Dutch Windmills and Flowers

The gateway to the Netherlands, Amsterdam Airport Schiphol is one of the world’s busiest international passenger terminals and home to the Dutch national airline, KLM.

The airport sits on reclaimed land around 10 feet below sea level on the site of a former huge inland lake. In fact, the name Schiphol may mean "ship grave," a reference to the ships that would periodically be sunk in its turbulent waters.

A train station serving many Dutch cities lies beneath the terminal building which houses a mini Rijksmuseum exhibition, reference library with multilingual books, and plenty of shops selling the ubiquitous clogs, tulip bulbs and cheese.

Booking.com’s range of Schiphol Airport hotels includes several on-site hotels. Others are in neighboring Hoofddorp, a town also within the area of the former lake, whose De Eersteling windmill overlooks a dike encircling a former fort.

Another windmill, the Molen van Sloten, is across a canal from Badhoevedorp on the airport’s north side. To the east, the huge Amsterdamse Bos forest is a haven of peace and tranquillity (apart from the occasional aircraft!) and borders Amstelveen. To the southwest is Aalsmeer, a town set on the huge Westeinderplassen Lake, and whose massive flower auction house receives daily consignments from all over the world.

    The Shiphol Airport is our favourite airport to enter and leave Europe. The Shiphol Plaza inside the airport gives you the option to eat for the first - or the last time - depends if you're coming or going - a delicious bite of European food. You may also just land with a carry-on and start shopping for clothes there. As Shiphol offers free WiFi you're able to navigate around even if your cell phone plan is not covering Europe. The main hall is also the entrance to the train station where you can start with a train (don't forget to buy a ticket at one of the many ticket machines, or pre-book online) to Amsterdam Centraal Station in the middle of Amsterdam.

    Great airport could see on all the notice bords exactly where to go and the people by check ins were very friendly and sufficient. Very good airport would recommend anyone and tell them how amazing airport in Schiphol is.

    If you are passing through Schiphol, it's usually good.

    If you are passing through Schiphol, it's usually good. They have a speed track for those making connections with a short layover at passport control. However, in the summer, they get lots of thunderstorms, and so flights don't often arrive on time. If you get stuck there, the Dutch are not particularly warm or helpful, so expect a calloused response to any requests for help, particularly from KLM and the border agents at passport control who seem suspicious about why you are in Amsterdam in the first place.

    In spite of the convenient location, and decent ammenities, there were issues with early gaining access to our room, no hot water on the bathroom sink, on both our visits, logging onto the wi-fi network, and confusion among assigned accommodation.

    I had a long overnight layover in Amsterdam, arriving after midnight, so I chose the Mercure for its convenient location in the terminal. It was a very easy check in experience and a very comfortable room, perfect for my needs.

    Location at Schiphol airport, approx 10min from terminal. Frequent (every 30mins) hotel shuttle bus service was very convenient way to travel to/from hotel/airport. Front desk was polite, both check in and out were managed effectively. Room was a bit more spacious than standard; features like with fridge, kettle and separate desk included. Breakfast is AMAZING, REALLY AMIZING! few on the spot stations, prosecco, fresh orange juice, high quality ingredients - it was really exceeding my expectations - really great way to start the day

    Due to our flight being cancelled we checked into the Sheraton overnight. The location was convenient within walking distance of the airport. Reception staff were friendly and helpful and check in was smooth. The room had all relevant amenities and was comfortable. There are a variety of restaurants but they were a bit on the expensive side. 2 diet cokes for example were €11.50 The hotel is an ideal base if you need easy access to Amsterdam airport. The rooms are well sound proofed so you are not bothered by airport noise.

    A very good and comfortable option if you travel to or from Amsterdam airport. The only negative point is that there are fewer shuttles to that particular hotel than for the other Ibis, and that coming from the airport, it is the last one to be reached. So the wait may seem long when you arrive from a long flight.
