    Beautiful city.

Beautiful city. Went to see the lights and did not disappoint, even with cloud cover all the days we went! We downloaded a few apps suggested by AI, and they were super helpful. We used the Svipper app to travel around town with the bus, and it worked wonders for us and our wallets! Lots of things to see and do during the day as well. The botanical gardens were beautiful and super well kept. Polaria was worth the money. Restaurants are a bit expensive but great dining! Telegrafbukta and Prestvannet are great places to see the northern lights!

We came for the midnight marathon as the principal drive for our visit but had a couple of days before to look around. We should have done it the other way round as we could not enjoy the sight seeing as much because of fretting about the run. I think our favourite thing were the seals at Polaria though. The city is very walkable but the scooters are easy to pick up if you have had enough. Unfortunately the cable car up the mountain overlooking Tromso was under repair and I was looking forward to going up it. I thought this was odd timing as they new a lot of people would be coming to the city for the race...

Bought a 24 hour bus pass.

Bought a 24 hour bus pass. Was really easy to navigate to cathedral, botanic gardens, tromso museum, airport. Central downtown is very easy to walk around, harbor is pleasant. We got a rental car to explore outside the city after that for 5 nights before flying on. Would recommend getting out to the city also as there is much beauty within an hour - however you chose to do that.

    Iconic arctic city. Good people.

Iconic arctic city. Good people. Feels a little like it's geared up for American cruise ships; the main street has 7-11s and the world's most northerly MacDonalds and several giant souvenir stores. And, boy, is it hard to get a reasonably priced vegetarian meal? Still, the library building is something to write home about, and the tunnels and underground car park are just remarkable.

The best thing about Tromso are the views.

The best thing about Tromso are the views. I was lucky, the weather was hot and I got to enjoy a lot of beautiful surrounding places to visit and eat out. I'd definitely go back again one day soon.

The location is really good with a closeby bus stop and grocery stores with long opening hours. The windows on both sides of the flat are quite big and we were lucky enough to see the northern lights from the window. Every essential kitchen thing is there, there could be more cups etc. though. We got very helpful tips (aurora-related and other) and a very detailed expalnation on how to operate the door lock from the resident who let us in, which was nice as we were in Tromso for the first time.

The property is a new house turned into a lodge. Living area upstairs so views are nice. Kitchen well supplied except for cups. BYO cup as there are only 3. A supermarket is 5 minutes up the road. Only a 25min walk to the city centre. Bathrooms were large and functional. Property is near the lake with beautiful views along the walking path. Perfect spot to catch the Northern Lights.
