Everyone in Niue is friendly and engaging. Make sure you bring reef shoes, snorkel/mask and a friendly attitude to make the most of your time here. Engage with the locals, visit the markets, and get out and about. Hire a bike and travel at a suitable pace, if you time it right, spend the day at a village Show Day. Self-transport is a necessity ( car, bike or walking) Be aware that as Niue is pretty flat biking is a breeze but the dogs ( very friendly without exception) may chase you at times.
As a vegan traveller be prepared to bring suitable food for your stay as meat and fish are the mainstay, although Fanas Cafe will do vegan.

I loved my time on Niue, though the food was very expensive so I cooked my own food. One needs to hire a car or bike to get around. Visiting tourist spots you have the whole place to yourself. The same with swimming and beaches - great.

Very convenient and centrally located in the heart of Alofi! it’s a super plus Niue Visitor centre, Uga Cafe, G-mini mart, Telecom, quaint shopping complex, Utuko sea track, market are just a stone throw away! I explored the island by mountain bike rented from the Niue Visitor centre which was a one-stop shop for souvenirs.

The location was great but the downsides were the dogs barking all night which is I know a thing in Alofi then there is the raving roosters who like to strut around sometimes from 3am onwards ,so earplugs a must!

Location - perfect, right at Alofi, 5-10min walk to all need including numerous snorkling places, dining options, the Port (plenty of action going on when ship arrived for unloading and loading).
