Hotel DeBrett 5 stars

Hotel in Auckland Central Business District, Auckland

This stylish boutique hotel in the heart of Auckland CBD (Central Business District) is a short walk from the Viaduct Harbour and the Sky Tower. My expectation of continental breakfast was some cannisters of cereal and rank fruit salad. But at The Brett it was served to the table and consisted of a fresh, tasty selection of yoghurt, muesli, fruit and patries. The a la carte options were also excellent quality and good value. The location in downtown Auckland was great for a business trip, with the added advantage of being quiet at night at having several nooks and options for dining and after work drinks.

Auckland Budget Inn

Hotel in Auckland

Featuring a garden, Auckland Budget Inn is set in Auckland in the Auckland region, 2.8 km from Herne Bay Beach and 3 km from Point Chevalier Beach. Clean, modern and comfy room. Shower with great power and toilets clean. Great shared fully equipped kitchen with various items eg bread, butter and milk for guests and fridge space. Nice quiet residential location with bike path to city and bus links nearby. Kate the manager was so helpful and kind, you can tell she really enjoys what she does. I was travelling with a bicycle and lots of luggage, I was able to lock the bike safely on the balcony for my stay and store luggage on checkout day as I had an evening flight. Kate’s brother drove me to the airport for $25 - Thank you, I’ll be back!

FAQs about hotels in Auckland

Thrilling City of Sails and Volcanoes

Called the 'City of Sails' due to the large number of yachts anchored in Waitemata Harbour, Auckland is the largest city of both New Zealand and Polynesia. Built on the Auckland Volcanic Field featuring about 48 extinct volcanoes, this city truly offers a blast!

Auckland is a real cultural mix with strong Asian, European, Maori and Polynesian influences, celebrated in frequent festivals and sporting events. Some examples of these cultures can be seen at the Auckland War Memorial Museum, one of the best in New Zealand. For more, try the upmarket dining of the Viaduct Harbour.

Another must-see is the tallest free-standing tower in the Southern Hemisphere, the Sky Tower. If you’re feeling up to the challenge, you can even perform the Sky Jump, a controlled base jump from 192 metres!

Climbing the volcanic cones as well as the stunning Auckland Harbour Bridge will provide unforgettable, panoramic views of the city’s skyline. For a different perspective, why not try a cruise or sea kayaking?

Getting to the city centre is an easy trip from Auckland International Airport. Find modern hotels, comfortable motels and cheap hostels on Booking.com, sure to have the perfect accommodation for your holiday.
