The breakfast was AMAZING. The beds were also super comfortable and it was great to have a few snacks from the minibar free of charge. We were met with excellent service and had all of our questions answered. The location is great for an overnight at the airport.

FAQs about hotels in Auckland

Thrilling City of Sails and Volcanoes

Called the "City of Sails" due to the large number of yachts anchored in Waitemata Harbor, Auckland is the largest city of both New Zealand and Polynesia. Built on the Auckland Volcanic Field featuring about 48 extinct volcanoes, this city truly is a blast!

Auckland is a real cultural mix with strong Asian, European, Maori and Polynesian influences, celebrated in frequent festivals and sports events. Some examples of these cultures can be seen at the Auckland War Memorial Museum, one of the best in New Zealand. For more, try the upmarket dining of Viaduct Harbour.

Another must-see is the tallest free-standing tower in the Southern Hemisphere, the Sky Tower. If you’re feeling up to the challenge, you can even perform the Sky Jump, a controlled base jump from 630 feet!

Climbing the volcanic cones as well as the stunning Auckland Harbour Bridge will provide unforgettable, panoramic views of the city’s skyline. For a different perspective, why not try a cruise or sea kayaking?

Getting to the city center is an easy trip from Auckland International Airport. Find modern hotels, comfortable motels and cheap hostels on Booking.com, sure to have the perfect place to stay for your trip.

This was not a holiday trip, but to see a friend off at the Airport. However, the location meant we could include a breakfast catchup with close relatives. the day before. We could conveniently come back from an early start to the Airport and sleep a little longer before our trip to Tauranga and then back home. Much appreciated.

Auckland continues to be crushed with traffic chaos,...

Auckland continues to be crushed with traffic chaos, congestion and ill tempered drivers. Road cones and never ending half-pie roadworks and contractors mostly sitting around watching the madness has been Auckland’s legacy for decades now. It is an multi cultural city, heavily represented by Asian residents and visitors so it’s important that visitors here know that although Auckland has some nice beaches, you will spend the majority of your time not seeing a full and true image of what NZ has been advertised as. Skip the place and look for nature, sights and experience the nation elsewhere.

Pleasantly surprised by our 5 nights in Auckland!

Pleasantly surprised by our 5 nights in Auckland! We had a rental car from & to the airport, had to have your wits about you driving but good signage for off ramps etc. Trains and buses are plentiful. Event/concert buses are great. Visited MOTOT incl Aviation hall and SEA LIFE Kelly Tarltons - very impressed by all.

Auckland CBD continues to be and area of Auckland to be avoided at all costs! Road closures, road cones, dirty streets and homeless people continue to dominate the CBD. Quality shopping is almost non-existent in the CBD. Limited places to eat after 10pm. Unless you have a good reason to visit the CBD (Shows at the Aotea Centre, Town Hall or Civic), you will probably have no reason to visit Auckland's CBD.

Really BAD transport options and After Eden Park event train options Treated like cattle and ja..Ed into trains which didn't stop where we had gotten on. Left in the dark and rain at around midnight at a station kms from the carpark of the previous station where so many of us at got onto the train. We stayed there during the wind storm and our flight got delayed for a day. Most of the hotels were either fully booked or changed their pricing to outrageously high. Luckily the front desk staff was super helpful and managed to extend our stay for one more night due to a last minute cancellation by other clients. The room was spacious, clean and well-designed. front desk was 24 hours which was very helpful. it’s about a 10-15 min walk to the city centre with lots of dining options.

For the location, Ibis Budget Auckland Airport is good Value for money in NZ - affordable, clean, efficient - walking distance with luggage from domestic and international terminals (quite good to stretch the legs and lungs after a long flight) with bus option if weather is filthy. Room has all the essentials for an overnight stay, and on-site cafe/restaurant with long hours and nearby supermarket for food and last minute needs.

Wow this is a hidden gem in Auckland CBD. Me and my 12 year old daughter stayed here when we attended concert at Eden Park. Room was very comfy and clean. Staff very friendly on arrival. Great location, was easy walk to Eden Park and also into CBD. The price was significantly lower than other hotels in CBD but quality was great. Highly recommend for those on a budget who still want safe, comfy and clean place to stay.

Solsen Flexi-Stay was a very good accommodation option close to Auckland Airport. Parking was easy and the hotel was managed by a pleasant and friendly owner. Our room was nice and clean with a very comfortable bed - we slept extremely well! The air-con was very good and there was a prevalence of quietness throughout the accommodation. Spacious room and really good value for hotel accommodation in Auckland. Free parking is a bonus. Great location too - short walk to cafes restaurants and shops on Parnell Road, as well as to Parnell train station. Can easily get to the airport and most other locations.
