Crowne Plaza Christchurch is a 4.5 star hotel, located in the heart of the CBD, 2 minutes' walk from New Regent Street and 6 minutes' walk from Christchurch Casino. Just LOVED everything about this hotel..... from the minute we walked in we were greeted so incredibly warmly by Flynn and were escorted to the most stunning suite... I can not fault a thing..... it was like walking into a vogue shoot...... the atmosphere was glamorous and luxurious, comfortable furnishings and high quality linens etc. The suite/room was HUGE. Every request was met quickly and with a smile. Can't wait to go back!
Located just 5 minutes from Christchurch International Airport, this hotel offers a free 24-hour airport shuttle service, plus an indoor swimming pool, a hot tub, sauna and a fitness center. Left a piece of luggage behind in our room and hotel staff were extremely nice to send it to the airport to us before we flew off. We are all very grateful.
The luxurious Distinction Christchurch Hotel is an urban escape combining sophisticated smarts and familiar warmth while standing proud among the buzz of the rejuvenation of Cathedral Square. Location was excellent, but still recovering from 2011 earthquake!
A 2-minute walk from Sumner Beach, Le Petit Hotel features free Wi-Fi access and laptops for guests’ use. This small hotel was perfect for our two night stay. Very well designed with double glazing and central heating (radiators), so comfortable in the Southern mid-winter (unlike many other hotels/motels we have stayed in in Christchurch). Our hosts, Martine and Bruce were lovely - efficient and friendly - and the breakfast was great. Overall it was a very French experience: the hotel was built to a French design and is decorated with French furniture. The breakfast room looks out onto a pretty garden with seating outside in summer. The rooms are very comfortable with French books and magazines on the shelves. Martine's attention to detail is wonderful and everything is presented in a very thoughtful way. Thanks for a wonderful stay!
Originally built in the 1880s, Merivale Manor offers elegant and luxurious accommodations with free WiFi access. Christchurch city center is only a 5-minute drive away. Fantastic hosts. Very helpful and let us check in very early as we had a family funeral later that day. Great rooms in a magnificent old home perfectly maintained and presented with real style.
Centrally located in pretty Christchurch, overlooking Hagley Park and the River Avon, the George is a luxurious 5-star boutique hotel. Guests enjoy free Wi-Fi. The rooms and service was beyond our expectations. The staff were amazing.

Christchurch is a beautiful city. The people were friendly and helpful and show an amazing resilience in the aftermath of the earthquake that caused $40 billion in damage. New buildings are in place or under construction and those damaged in the quake are being rebuilt. Wood salvaged from the quake has been fashioned into pendants with Maori designs that are sold throughout New Zealand in stylish gift boxes and the proceeds of their sales go to support the rebuilding effort. Christchurch is coming back and is well worth a visit. I wish we could have stayed longer than four days in Christchurch and we are already planning our return trip that will include several more days in the city and the surrounding area.
I live in Rangiora which is 30min away from Christchurch city, my partner and I stayed in Christchurch city for 2 nights and enjoyed every minute of it, there is a lot to do in the city...we couldn't afford to go any where else for our one year anniversary...our weekend away from the kids was awesome could have been longer....
Christchurch is a great city re-emerging from the earthquake. Kiwis punch above their weight with building ingenuity & community engagement. Great visit. Will be back Recommend Saket Indian at Edgeware. Great food & service.
What a lovely city - I booked my flight from USA so that I could spend a day at the Botanical Gardens before going on to Queenstown (Nov. 2017). I'm so glad I did. I took a bus from near the airport - it was inexpensive and easy, the gardens were beautiful, had lunch at the restaurant onsite, chatted with lovely Kiwis while enjoying a delicious meal. After that I took a last ride of the day - "punting on the Avon". It was delightful. I'm so sorry that they suffered so much loss and damage from the earthquakes awhile back, but their resilience shines through. Lovely city, lovely people.
If staying in town there’s barely anything there to do apart from the quake museum and the artic museum. They’re still rebuilding the city so barely any shops. A new set of restaurants have been built next to the river, apart from that not many people around it seems. Probably wouldn’t visit again until it’s been built up more.
Christchurch city centre wasn't particularly inviting due to all the work in progress and a confusing road system for pedestrians. We'd like to go back when it's finished because it looks promising. Plenty of great places to eat and friendly locals who recommended a trip to Akaroa which was fantastic! Just over an hour drive away-well worth a visit.

Excellent hotel, very clean, trendy decoration, very nice and professional personnel. We booked a too small room (on 6th top floor) which was looking like a boat cabin (bed surrounded by walls on 3 sides, room entrance very small) so we asked for a bigger one for 30NZ$ more per night (we were staying 3 nights) and we received a very nice surprise when leaving, the manager made a commercial gesture and offered the upgrade. Nothing to do with this kind attention, but I would definitely recommend this place if you have to stay in Christchurch.

The property is close to the airport, the bus line to downtown Christchurch is very close, shopping mall within walking distance. The room was very spacious with small kitchen and bedroom, could sleep 5, laundry available, very comfortable. Maree had provided us with fruit, milk and cereal, cookies, crackers and cheese in consideration of our very late night arrival. Maree and Stuart made our stay there very pleasant. Would highly recommend Garden City Motel.

Great location. Just 15mins drive from airport and opposite Riccarton Westfield. Staff were really friendly. Upon first glance of the room, it looks simple. But it has absolutely everything you need. A heater in the bathroom, heated towel rail, hair dryer, electric blanket, heater in the room, sky tv... and a very clean kettle! Most hotels don’t have a clean enough kettle that i would use. And the bonus? 4 ply toilet rolls! What a treat :D

Great location near Riccarton Westfields, and close to the city centre, Hagley Park, and the Botanical Gardens (a great and easy walk on a nice day). Apartment is modern, clean and well appointed. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Second time here and my place of choice when I’m back in Christchurch next.

Everything. New motels very handy to city and main roads. Very quiet, beds extremely comfortable, new amenities, staff extremely helpful and pleasant. Priced one of the cheaper motels in the city, will definitely be putting this motel on my list to stay when returning to Christchurch.

The lounge is quite huge, and the staff is so helpful, breakfast is cheap like 6NZD.most hostels in Christchurch don’t accpet check-in after 10 pm.but they are available until 1 am. Plugs are next to your bed,so convenient!
