I really liked my room and the hotel generally. It was beautifully designed and made me feel comfortable during my stay while in town for the women's world cup. The staff was so nice, friendly, and very helpful. The housekeeping staff did such a great job cleaning my room. The front desk staff was so patient and friendly every time and I had questions. The cafe staff was so welcoming and nice. Overall it was an amazing experience and I would love to return.

Everything was on point. Nicely situated, close to all the things you need - supermarket, restaurants, pubs, public transport, city center. The room was nice and spacious, with an awesome bed and fluffy bedding. In the kitchen was everything that you could need which doesn't happen often - pan, toaster, cutlery, even salt/pepper/oil. Besides all these things, others stood out. 1) Customer service - nothing was a problem, the staff replied in a bit and they were very kind and helpful. 2) A heated floor in the bathroom - especially in winter is such a nice thing. 3) Totally two heaters - one in the bedroom and one in the living room. 4) Water in the refrigerator ready to drink and a variety of coffee, milk, and tea. Also, I had a room for disabled - can only recommend if available - a wider hallway and a bit more spacious. Nevertheless, I saw a normal room as well and it was still very nice. I stayed totally for 7 nights and only can recommend it.

We booked this for our son and his girlfriend who needed the business facilities for a 4 hour zoom job interview in the UK. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful - both ahead of the stay when choosing a room and also during their stay. This included allowing him to use the conference room at 3am. Room service meant that they could eat before the interview started and the quality of the room was amazing. Having been camping and staying in hostels until this point they were stunned by their Wains Suite. Special mention to Lachlan and Sarah-Jayne.

We were just passing through on this trip, but Dunedin is a great place to visit for an extended stay Harbour and inlet good for paddle boarding, kayaking, sailing. Any scheduled open water swims are great. Mountain biking on the peninsula and behind Logan Park and other trails is good. Good tramping and trail running, Mt Cargill, Swampy etc Weekly Park runs. Marathon one of my NZ favourites, a must do. Summer events regularly held by local triathlon club. I am in my 70s and enjoy Dunedin, younger folks would enjoy it even more

A city with scenic landscapes and harbour views seen from everywhere. Charming villas hug hillside suburbs with many quaint communities to discover. Easy walking around the city centre or alternatively drive around the coastal roads and suburbs to visit surf beaches pounding one side of the peninsula in contrast to the calm blue of the Otago harbour. Lots to see for bird & wildlife enthusiasts, eclectic shopping and architectural delights including Larnach castle’s interesting historical story.

Love the experiences at Otago peninsula, blue penguins tour and St Claire beach. The city I didnt see much to be honest. And unfortunately I had a bad experience booking with Trip advisor/ Viator for the Castle and Gardens booking, I booked through the app and the company they sold has been closed for 2 years. So I waited 40 minutes just to then be told by the Isite staff that that company has t been operating for a long time, so very disappointed.. im waiting for the refund but the experience was ruined. I can take back that time and I couldn’t book another tour bc I already expended the money and Im not sure I will hace a refund, and I had little time algo bc I only had the morning free.

Larnach Castle stay was a highlight and also visiting the Orokonui Sanctuary. Photo of sunrise from room 22 at the lodge at the castle. Dunedin has lovely cafes but Coffee Culture Roslyn stood out as a great find. Beautiful freshly made keto bacon and egg flan. Photo of old fire door table. Lots of old buildings and great museums including a live butterfly collection. Don’t forget to get your fuel before heading out of town.

Some great cafes near the Octagon, our favourite is The Corner Store cafe in Stuart St. Fantastic food at the cafe inside the Ebb Hotel also. Drive out past Port Chalmers and the restaurant there, the Carey's Bay Historic hotel does a fantastic lunch. Drive out to Aramoana after lunch; a desolate, haunted but beautiful place. The Esplanade cafe at St Clairs beach does incredible pizzas after a walk on the beach. Emerson's brewery is always a fave, and Balmac number 7 and Harbvourside are excellent restaurants, Balmac number 7 more upmarket, both with great food.

I like the location because it was nice and central in Dunedin City. I also like the "old" style historical "vibe" of the Hotel. Although could do with some more work on bringing up to date, but in keeping with the historical ambiance. They would do well if they get this right.
