Guests staying in this 1-bedroom house can take a 328 feet stroll down to Hot Water Beach for a day filled with sun-tanning, swimming and building sandcastles. Superb location in a very clean, very comfortable property. We loved being right by the beach and within easy walking distance of the cafes.
This beach side property is within a minutes' walk from the world renowned Hot Water Beach, where guests can dig their own natural hot springs. This cozy bungalow offers free private parking. Exceptional location.Having a barbeque to use was a big bonus. If ever I were to NZ again,I would go back.
Located in Hahei in the Waikato region and Hot Water Beach reachable within 1.6 mi, Hot Water Beach Lookout B&B provides accommodations with free WiFi, BBQ facilities, a shared lounge and free private... The location is so beautiful on top of a hill, and very close to Hot Water Beach, literally only 5min drive. Cathedral Cove is also nearby. The room is probably the cleanest we’ve ever seen. Bathroom is super clean and very well lit. The owner is very friendly, and makes excellent breakfast that is served on your outside terrace. Would recommend to wake up early and watch the sunrise
Don't come too early! The tide needs to go out to expose the heated area which you can feel by digging your feet into the sand. We arrived too early and dug for an hour in the wrong area for no reason, do the research on where to dig to save you time. Walk about 250 meters from the end car park back along the beach to find a rock outcrop. We found the heated area on the seaward side of the rocks. See the photo. We ended up digging with complete strangers to try to find a heated area and ended sharing our pool which was a nice touch. The springs are hot - almost unbearable, so a bucket to get seawater is a good idea to cool your pool down. Don't forget to use sunscreen too!
Hot Water Beach is amazing - dig your own pool and sit in a warm, free jaccuzi just by the ocean. First time we did it was under a full moon and thousands of stars - magical. The second day we did this the water was even too hot to sit in after a while. Fantastic experience - MUST DO!
It's probably a little overrated. Most important thing is to time your beach time right if you want to feel the heat. You'll need to get there really early (within the perfect timing window) to get a prime spot, otherwise just settle for feeling the heat underfoot. It is a beautiful beach and everyone loves to play in the surf. Park legally or you'll get a ticket!
It was an amazing experience to see how many people were digging for a little warmer water. The chatting went across the board wether you knew the person or not. Thanks to all for sharing your water with all.
Amazing to think just below the sand are VERY hot water streams,it is very popular but you need to time your visit inline with the low tide. ( available on line). Local Art shops nearby where you can by one off souvenirs. Plus a good Cafe if its an early visit
Hot water beach hot pools was over rated as over crowded and unable to get to dig our own pool. So for that one night was enough, but we were tight for time, so I can see it is a great base to explore the wider area too. Great place to stay, would stay again. Onsite fish and chips were lovely!
