If you love the "out of dodge" (city) feeling and love the ocean and laid back vibes....then this is the place to visit!! Wish we had more time to expore more but the time spent with good company was well worth the trip there!!

Stayed in the Silos in Little River after lovely day in Akaroa. A truly unique place to stay. Walked to Little River Hotel for a drink in the evening. Very friendly and we were even given a ride back to the Silos along with other guests. Had a delicious breakfast at the Cafe and Gallery in the morning. Loved our stay in Little River :)

Great walks and cycle track along Lake Forsyth - best in early morning. Cafe and gallery definitely worth visiting. Great place to stop over at on way to Akaroa or beyond. And so convenient from Christchurch as a day trip

Amazing people!
Amazing people! Would recommend hiring a bike and trying out some of the trails, the bike ride to Okuti is fairly tough but there’s a river at the end and a few short bush walks - and the downhill bike on the way back is worth it. Check out the art gallery and the eggs bene from the cafe next door! The information desk is full of helpful and kind advice.

A peaceful and unique stay.
A peaceful and unique stay. Nice forest walk to the cabin. Can get very hot in summer even with the doors all open and shades pulled. Loved sleeping under the night sky and loved the glass floor. Would be perfect with an outdoor bath. Optional food package available but we went around a collected local produce to make on the bbq which was perfect. All in all with the beautiful banks peninsula and akaroa so close it made our trip fantastic.

An absolute gem of a location.
An absolute gem of a location. We have spent a lot of time mooching around Little River prior to our overnight stay. Fabulous coffee and food in the local cafe. Art Gallery an absolute must to visit.Staff very knowledgeable about all of the beautiful artwork, and all the other amazing merchandise, in stock. Lovely playground for young children and also picnic tables ,scattered around. One of our favourite places to visit in New Zealand. We will never tire of its uniqueness.
