We decided to splurge and pay more than we normally do for a luxury stay at the Pinot Villas. We absolutely loved our room -- comfortable and luxurious, well-equipped kitchen and facilities. The location was perfect in the center of Martinborough. Although there is no one onsite, the check in procedure was simple.

Nice place has a small village feel, very bougie with plenty of winery's on offer and an excellent selection of places to eat and drink. Cape Palliser and Lake ferry are a short car drive away and offer amazing scenery and wildlife to look at. Good fishing and diving here as well.

Very easy to get around & great base for doing wine...
Very easy to get around & great base for doing wine trails. If wanting to visit different attractions in the area, make sure you check on opening days as quite a few places only open at weekend. Limited selection for evening meals & difficult to find somewhere that offered basic reasonably priced food. Fine if you want top class dining with top dollar prices.

We loved the Martinborough Hotel - including the sloping floor in our room! The bathroom was divine with its roll top bath. We had everything we needed in our room and we enjoyed breakfast on the veranda and coffee in the library.

Loved sitting in the garden in the late afternoon. Some cellar doors within walking distance (recommend Margrain), and Martinborough brewery - which is only a couple of streets away. Comfy bed and good shower. We plan to return!
