    Most beautiful place to visit beautiful nature around and lots to do except for pricing on products and the pricing of the sculpture place pay more than $50 a person is quite steep so we opted to visit places we didn’t have to spend any money and enjoyed it just as much. Marakana is simply beautiful

    Experience the Sculptureum and Brick Bay sculpture walk! Great hospo options - The Vintry, Matakana Market Kitchen, Jin Jins, and Brick Bay restaurant. Tawharanui Peninsula is a must for walks and scenery. Other great walking options around the area too.

    Perfectly located for beautiful multiple beaches and handy places to visit. You need a car. Some of the nearby beaches (Tāwharanui here’s looking at you), you are best to plan to get there early - say by 9am on public holidays in super summery weather - for access and parking reasons (there is plenty of beach to go around!).. and take shade structures and sunscreen with you! Gorgeous though.

    Matakana Village Market - a foodies paradise, lots of gluten-intolerant options. Highly recommend the GF crepes! (Even for non-Coeliacs.) Sculptureum - great value for money, such an interesting unusual place to spend a couple of hours. Donkeys at Highfield Gardens Reserve - a must for any animal lover. Only carrots, apples or spinach may be fed, so go prepared. Take a drive to the local beaches. Omaha Beach is ideal to walk and stop for an ice cream or sorbet at the Superette.

    Took my senior parents so we had a bedroom each & it worked very well for us. EVERYTHING supplied and the deck with rural views was stunning. LOVED the outside pool in a private glade, and just a 5-minute drive to Matakana Saturday market. Lovely & quiet - wish we could have stayed longer. Never do reviews but had to on this occasion as just so good!

    brilliant, better than expected, they have thought of everything we could have wanted in a small property. we had a 1 bedroom on the edge with a deck that seemed to get a lot of sunshine, great for evening drinks. we also liked Matakana and the whole area

    Gorgeous old cottage that has been really beautifully decorated. Spacious inside and out - 4 people not at all cramped. Sunny, bright and light. Fantastic location in centre of Matakana village. Just walk out the door to restaurants, cafes, shops.
