Very spacious and comfortable for my party of 5. All beds provided restful sleep. Home has 2 queens and 2 twin beds divided amongst 3 bedrooms. The kitchen was well equipped and there were plenty of towels and linens available. Had WiFi and even some board games stocked.

The main point of our trip was to visit Hobbiton Movie Set.

The main point of our trip was to visit Hobbiton Movie Set. This is an amazing experience, our second trip. Have done both the lunch & dinner experience. Food, staff & experience rate a 10. Had a great meal at Sofra, food & staff were great. Breakfast at The Rich Coffee Cafe was nice and the staff were ok. Visited the I-Centre too and found the staff to be helpful.

Matamata was a complete surprise.

Matamata was a complete surprise. We ate at 4 different restaurants and each place had friendly staff and good selections on the menus. The information centre staff were wonderful and very helpful. Hobbiton exceeded our expectations. Will definitely be returning to Matamata

Matamata is a nice little town with the usual array of shops...

Matamata is a nice little town with the usual array of shops and some good eating places. Of course its access to Hobbiton, which was the purpose of our trip, but enjoyed a pleasant evening eating fish n chips in the wooded, shaded park area by the Isite.

We were in Matamata for a wedding at Hobbiton which was a great experience for us, even though we are not Lord of the Rings fans. Plenty of places to dine and from Maple Lodge was an easy walk into the main centre of town.

Location was excellent for Hobbiton and Waitomo Caves visit! We could walk to a lovely (and very yummy) coffee shop each morning and a fun brew pub at night. There were other restaurants on the street, but one was having a private party and another was fully booked. If you’re looking for super luxury travel vibe, it’s very hard to find in this area, my friend who is a pretty posh gal was a bit worried. However the Broadway Motel was IMMACULATELY clean, spacious, and very welcoming. We both were very please and highly recommend it!

Really great B&B in Matamata, very close to Hobbiton. The bed was super comfy, the kitchen fully equipped, everything was clean and tidy and the free onsite parking was much appreciated. It's also good value for money. The owners are very lovely and close by in case of any questions or problems, of which there were none. Perfect for a stop-over or even staying for a few days to explore the area. I would definitely stay here again.

The views are amazing, it feels remote from everything, however it’s so close to Matamata. It’s very relaxing there with all the facilities we needed for our one night stay. The interior was modern and inviting.

Cheap (for NZ) for what you got. Fairly spacious room. Convenient for driving onto exit roads in the morning, Air conditioning was a bonus (many other budget NZ hotels didn't have it).
