Located in Motueka, Abbey Court Motel has a garden and free WiFi. Rooms have a patio with mountain views. Very spacious, clean, soft towels, wonderful staff! Vicky, the manager, is cheerful and goes out of her way to help. Simply interacting with her can put a smile on your face for the rest of the day:) Incredibly spacious, and clean apartment, and great value for money. Comfortable beds and very clean.
Offering self-contained accommodations with free WiFi and free parking, Jandals 101 is located in Motueka. Each apartment offers a fully equipped kitchen and satellite TV. Cleanliness, hospitality and very nice friendly welcoming. We found a good sized large fridge with freezer, washing machine , dryer and they try all the time to answer our questions and give us what we need.
Set on 11 acres, An Island Getaway offers a private beach area, free WiFi and a 2-bedroom house with a balcony. The property features free on-site parking. Everything. Detail was great, headboard pictures etc. I pod was good for music. Just being out of site of civilization.
Offering free unlimited, high-speed WiFi, free kayak and bike hire, Laughing Kiwi Backpackers is located just 2 minutes’ walk from Motueka’s restaurants, cafes and shops. Location was perfect. Very close to eateries and about 25 mins drive to Marahau. Tracy is such a gracious host. She helped us book our watertaxi from Marahau to Anchorage. The walk was easy, however the first 30 mins was up hill but wasn't too bad. There are beautiful bays and views along the way. We met some amazing people who helped us plan our trip. Wainui Falls and Ruiwaka Resurgence is not to be missed, juat a few mins drive from Motueka. Carry a bug spray too to keep the sandflies away.
Nautilus Lodge is surrounded by Motueka's cafés, restaurants and shops. A flat-screen TV with over 50 satellite channels and a DVD/CD player are included in every room. We were going to be much later than expected. Our hosts were so gracious to wait for us and help us get settled in. The room was wonderful, clean and comfortable.
A 5-minute stroll from Motueka's shops and restaurants, Equestrian Lodge Motel offers self-contained accommodations with a private veranda overlooking the garden. Excellent location close to the main street of Motueka, departure point for Abel Tasman Park. The owner was very pleasant and helpful. The room was great, air-conditioned, kitchen, very comfortable bed, lovely grounds. Great value.
Set in the Motueka area and within 15 minutes driving of Kaiteriteri beach, the Chalets @ Terraced Gardens offers accommodations with views of Riwaka Valley. Free Wi-Fi is available in each chalet. The location is excellent in that it is a short drive to Kaiteriteri for the boats to the Abel Tasman park, which we took to do a nice walk in the park. The chalet is large enough and sufficiently equipped to allow simple cooking, which we did on two nights. The location is pretty in an orchard with a good view. We enjoyed our stay, which we found good value. The hosts were very helpful regarding local trips. There were also fresh figs from a tree on the property, which my wife particularly enjoyed.
It definitely grew on me as a place to stay. A great spot to use as a base for exploring the Abel Tasmen and lots of other beauty spots nearby. The local I-site was busy but very helpful. Enjoyed the unexpected nature reserve alongside the estuary with Royal Spoonbills and much else. The town has a bit of everything from a variety of restaurants and cafes to supermarkets and barbers.
Motueka makes a good base for Abel Tasman National Park as Kaiteriteri is about 15 minute drive away. Abel Tasman National Park can be explored in a day, but you likely will want more time for more sight seeing. Golden Bay may also be done as a day trip, but it is a long day and you may wish to spend more time over there.
The Sprig and Fern pub was nice, good food and excellent cider. Avoid Moutere Valley on public holidays as most places were closed, apart from the excellent Wimea Vineyard. The place was really busy but staff were friendly and welcoming. The food and wine were delicious.
I was walking in Abel Tasman National Park and I found Motueka the perfect location to do this. It was a small town, but had plenty of local shops for the traveller including bars and restaurants as well as being just a short drive away from the National parks
Motueka is the gateway community to Abel Tasman park. It's a beautiful place to enjoy and explore. You really need to see it on foot, driving through the park just does not do it justice. We went sea kayaking and had a wonderful time despite the weather and the unusual presence of some rather nasty jellyfish. There is so much scenery we wish we had time to explore and couldn't. The town itself is very nice, with a great main street with lots of shopping and restaurants. The food was awesome, especially at Elevation.
Doing the full day Abel Tasmin Ecotours with Stewart was the best money spent. The full day out with kaiteriteri Kayakon Big Tonga tour the next day however was a waste of money and time. Their guide was not very knowledgeable and did not enjoy at all. A 400 DOLLAR Mistake. Trip ti Ngarua cave well worth it.

This is the place that you must must must check out if you are around Abel Tasman. We felt so relaxed at this cute container house after our camping trip. We really regret that we didn’t book it for one more day. Felt so sad when leaving;) It’s very clean, very cozy and very quiet. The sunrise view was gorgeous! Thank you very much, Murray and Gail! We will definitely come back.

The location was beautiful and very close to Motueka. The cottage was secluded and well fitted out, the main bed was quite comfortable for family of 4. The room was very clean and shower had great water pressure. Also, communication and service was outstanding. We were super close to Abel Tasman track and several beach towns.

This picture perfect accommodation is in an idyllic location overlooking the valley and the Tasman sea. Our group of two couples stayed in both the cottage and the bedroom suite in John and Scott’s house. Everything was impeccable. John and Scott have thought of every possible detail to make the stay comfortable.

The units and bathrooms are very large and the grounds are spacious and beautifully kept. Lovely swimming pool area, barbecue area and spotlessly clean everywhere. The owners are super friendly and very helpful. Definitely the nicest motel in the whole area.

Excellent accommodations, quiet setting with private patio. Peter and Lindsay are fine hosts, gave us helpful information which allowed us to make the best use of our short 2 days in Motueka. Good location close to town and Abel Tasman Park.
