Set in Mount Cook National Park, The Hermitage Hotel features a range of rooms and suites all offering majestic mountain views, and most with views of Mount Cook. Amazing view even from my discounted room! The food in the cafe was very good and dining with the MT Cook view was spectacular! Staff were super friendly and my whole experience was amazing!
Aoraki Court Motel is a modern accommodations located in Aoraki Mount Cook National Park. All units feature great views of surrounding mountains and Mount Sefton. Excellent location for a visit to Mount Cook. Spacious room with Kitchenette. Laundry facilities on site. Highly recommended.
Set in Mount Cook Village in the Canterbury region, Aoraki Alpine Chalet features a patio and garden views. Terrific accommodation. Restaurant choices are limited, but facilities at chalet are very good for cooking, so be sure to pack some groceries. A very comfortable place to relax and enjoy the mountain views.
Located near Lake Tekapo in the Canterbury region, Mount Cook Station Huts provides accommodations with free WiFi. Guests can also relax in the garden. Everything. The isolation factor, the view from the hut, amenities provided, even the drive to the huts was amazing. We were initially daunted by the location because it made the drive to all the sights of interest a far distance away (Aoraki Airport was about 1.5hr away). All our fears were gone when we were treated with a scenic drive with Mount Cook in the horizon. It was such an amazing difference from the buzz of city life, a much welcome change in fact. The hut itself was lovely. Bed was very comfortable and cleanliness was ensured. The shared kitchen was sufficient to cook simple meals. I strongly recommend eating outside on the bench and enjoy the fresh air and magnificent views. The toilet was large and has strong shower with hot water. There is only two huts available and so it's really quiet and peaceful. The process of checking in and out couldn't be any easier. Mount Cook Station Hut is honestly a place you cannot stop raving about but also don't want too many people to know about because you just it all to yourself.
Located in Lake Tekapo, Mount Cook Station Shearers Quarters Lodge has accommodations with free WiFi and a garden with a grill. The campground has a sun terrace. The drive to Mt Cook Station along the lake with views of snow mountains is hard to beat. Mt Cook Station itself is fabulous - Great friendly host who ensured warm house before we checked in, star lit sky views from the property, well equipped kitchen, nice place to chill...They have got Central heating and electric blankets for you to manage the cold.
Glentanner Park is a holiday park and activity center offering affordable accommodations and panoramic views of Aoraki Mount Cook and Mount Cook National Park. The staff are very accommodating. It’s 15 mins drive from Mt Cook Village but it has a really good view of the mountains from your room. Clean bathroom and comfortable beds.
So beautiful. Lots of choices for short achievable family day walks. The hooker valley walk was stunning. Not a huge amount of options for food options at the moment so if your room has facilities bring some supplies.
Beautiful scenery, lots of walks to do all with great views. Good activities to take part in, but can be costly. Walks are free!! Not many options for eating though, but YHA has great self catering facilities.
We didnt really have anything to do with the actual village as we were on a mission to bike to the glacier in the morning and we were departing on return. Its so conveniently placed and of course where ever you are in the village you get stunning 'eye candy'. One of those places that everywhere you go or turn you say "Oh wow!" We ate at the Hermitage restaurant and didnt hold out much hope as we are vegans....the chef went out of his way as did the serving staff to provide us with more food than we should have eaten but oh my it was delicious. Wonderful staff everywhere. We highly recommend a trip to the planetarium, very informative and of course you get to put your newly gained knowledge into practise looking up at the night sky later. Tasman glacier is a stones throw (in our case a bike ride) away, a short walk up to the viewing area and "OH WOW!" Go see it, before it disappears.
What a stunning location even though we couldn’t see Mt Cook we loved being there. We will definitely be heading back it was a magic place to just relax or take up some tours and strolling in the beauty of it all.
The mountains, glaciers, lakes and wild flowers make this place truly picturesque. Among many of the tracks, my favourite is still the Hooker Valley Track. It always surprises you along the walk. Heli Hiking on the Tasman Glacier is another highlight. You will be stunned in the beautiful blue cave.
If you really want to explore Aoraki National Park - there is no place better than the village. Give yourself plenty of time, and attempt to do as many walks as possible. Hooker Valley track is a must do!
Amazing view even from my discounted room! The food in the cafe was very good and dining with the MT Cook view was spectacular! Staff were super friendly and my whole experience was amazing!
Excellent location for a visit to Mount Cook. Spacious room with Kitchenette. Laundry facilities on site. Highly recommended.
Comfy bed and pillows. Great location and views.
The resto near the place is really good!
