An excellent city to visit and stay especially for travelers exploring the southwestern part of the South Island. Several options are available to enjoy this city while exploring the natural assets of NZ.
It was worth the break away from a busy city lifestyle. The accomodation caters to any price range and locals are friendly. Recommend 'The Million Dollar Cruise' - the views and Captain made it worth the 90 minutes.. and so affordable! The weather definitely helped too!
We stayed in the heart of the city so we walked everywhere we wanted to go, safe at night as well. We dined out every day breakfast lunch and dinner. Staff at all eating places were very friendly and we did notice staff were smiley and we felt valued as a customer We went on the Million dollar cruise which was very relaxing worth it for tourists for the price,
It is an amazing place to come for vacation, relaxing, nature around is amazing. It is made for tourist and very expensive for me but i still enjoy every minute. Shopping and eating out is not for low budget travelers. But fond a wawy to visit it is a great starting point to so many things i am going to discover.
A great showcase of New Zealand's South Island. Dramatic scenery especially the Remarkables. Our trip to Doubtful Sound was a highlight, the coach drivers to and from were informative, humorous and entertaining as was the skipper of the boat.
WOW! There is so many varied activities to do. I hired a mountain bike from the city centre and road around the lake - easy riding for a few hours on good paths, easy to follow. The ride was amazing - great views and fresh air! Arrowtown in Autumn is breathtaking - gold and red trees line the mountain, the town is full of historical significance, the eateries were amazing - I had breakfast at Provisions - it was busy as and well worth it; and lunch at the Postmasters - fabulous mushroom rissotto & friendly service. AFterwards an ice-cream! The BOATSHED cafe in queenstown marina - oh my! You walk in and get the most amazing view of the lake - friendly service & lovely food. Bee Bus - it's such a cheap way to get around - $2 to Arrowtown, getting to the airport or just around town. The schedule is easy to follow to. Freyburgs - went their for breakfast coffee and croissant; morning tea for a pie; and apparently by the cue out onto the pavement their burgers are amazing! Such a lively happy place.
Kelvin Heights, Queenstown
The staff we're lovely and helpful, room service was quick and delicious! The pool was a perfect temp and I loved how the deep end was actually deep (1.6m). We paid extra for a room with a view and it is definitely worth it! It was also super handy to have the water taxi arrive right out front of the Hilton and if you showed them your room key the water taxi was discounted - SO much cheaper than a uber or taxi into Queenstown and it runs all day and night. Perfect place to stay in Queenstown.
The apartment was very spacious with spectacular views over the lake. We liked the way you could walk into the centre of Queenstown via the Frankston track. A very scenic walking and cycling track, running along the side of the lake all the way, which you could directly access from the Hotel. The bathroom was very "high spec" complete with underfloor heating. The water pressure was excellent. The best we've ever experienced from any hotel.
This new hotel beside the Airport is a great stopover option for Queenstown. The hotel facilities themselves are great - modern, clean, comfortable apartments with everything you need (including a washer and dryer). And within close vicinity of the hotel there are shops and restaurants. The 15min walk to the airport is easy, making travel to/from Queenstown much easier than a central Queenstown stopover.
Queenstown
I stayed in this hostel before and it’s a pretty nice hostel and very cheap. Jucy has always good deals. The rooms are very nice, you’ve got your own private pod with plug sockets, air condition, a light and some storage space. Jucy has also a nice rooftop bar with a great atmosphere and view over Queenstown. I would always come back!
Great hotel, decent location - only about 15-20 minutes drive from central Queenstown. Good food options nearby, and incredible views of the Remarkables. Rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable, food and buffet breakfast was wonderful, and staff were all friendly.
Queenstown
Great location to centre of Queenstown. Wonderful view of Queenstown.A good workout walking back up the hill. The wood burner and supply of wood was a great assess in the frosty mornings, and coming back after a day at the snow.Great kitchen with excellent views.
Unit clean and well appointed. In a great area close to the centre of town. Views incredible and probably some of the best in Queenstown. Staff friendly and helpful. Parking onsite good. Facilities in the unit good and appliances first class.
Not in the centre of Queenstown but only a picturesque (along the Frankton track)15min walk away. Large 2 bedroom apartment was perfect for our family of 4. Convenient shuttle in/out of town if needed. Fantastic house keeping each day.
Queenstown
Nice apartments had everything we need and very warm. Kind welcoming caring staff and owners. stunning views from our apartment of the snowy mountains, Queenstown town centre and lake. highly recommended and would stay here again.
Everything was great! The staff was very helpful and the room was nice and cozy. The location of the hotel is excellent - so close to city centre, gondola, bus station and Queenstown Hill.
The location of the hotel was great - extremely central to all of Queenstown and the view is breathtaking. The staff were always very friendly and efficient.
super warm and clean, room services are very efficient. 8 minutes walk to Queenstown central, although a big uphill to walk back to the hotel.
