This is an older home that has been renovated. Very comfortable, stocked with everything you need, cute little sunroom, so much better than a hotel! Location was great. Quiet street. Hosts responded quickly. Highly recommend.

This is quite simply one of the most fantastic places I have ever stayed. Harold House has been restored to immaculate condition. When we arrived, we spent ages simply wandering around marvelling at these gorgeous, well-appointed rooms and all the fascinating heritage features and items. The location is very convenient in Reefton township, but also quiet. If you are visiting the West Coast, I highly recommend staying here; we wished we had booked longer—in terms of accommodation, it was the best of our entire road trip around the South Island.

Beautiful heritage building . Well set up for guests. Loved the Vault room with original vault door. Kitchen and breakfast were just right. Great central location in a cute country town. Check in was easy. Highly recommend.

    Reefton is a lovely town.

    Reefton is a lovely town. The river hydro walk is enjoyable as to the local pubs. Dawsons provides a good meal. The new Pizza parlour Bassano makes great pizza, though I thought the wine was overpriced. Accomodation were I have stayed, both great places. Different price points but neither can be faulted. Harold House and The Old Vicarage.

    There is a lot of natural and historical interest to be found in Reefton. It has an unusual and charming shopping street. Good cafes. Enjoyed our meals at Wilson’s Hotel. Friendly, chatty people who made us feel welcome. Enjoyed visiting Waiuta ghost goldmine town , but be careful on the narrow road.

    The place is basic but clean and comfortable. The staff is very friendly and help you in all your needs. My husband had a health issue and the Michelle helped me with informations and support to solve it. I felt very comfortable with them. The place is basic, but the view from the backyard is very nice. I recommend this place and I would come back.

    Fabulous town, have been to Reefton many times as I came from Westport, now live in Australia. My Australian neighbours stayed here last year and loved it, as we did. The town is doing very well with tourists I know love it. So congratulations to your town.

    Reefton is an historic town which may have suffered from the Covid period. Some buildings were closed down and others not open all week. It has a cinema (not open on the couple of days we were there), and a gin tasting facility, a supermarket and a variety of eateries. As well, some delicate little sole trader shops for all things interesting. It offers fly fishing in the stream at appropriate times and a couple of hotels (be mindful of the Reefton hotel barmaid and the sagging, wobbly floor). The town has retained a lot of the old architecture in its buildings, befitting a glorious historical past. There's a central war memorial and a cluster of fine wooden churches as well as an historic courthouse just away from the main street in town. Pretty.

    Reefton has done a lot to upgrade the town center. lots of art halleroes, curio shops, 2 bery good cafe and one excellent authentiek Italian pizzeria with art-deco interior and wood-fired pizza. Close to plentyof hiking, fishing, rafting and mountain biking.

    Really well equipped place to stay for a night. We are on a long NZ road trip from Auckland to the bottom of the South Island, and very much appreciated the ability to launder clothes, make our own food, be warm and cosy and comfortable (sleep), and have the luxury of a later check out at 11am. Reefton is a cute town with historic buildings and nice cafes/ bakeries. This place had everything we were after, as a stopover when exploring the Lewis pass and west coast area. Thanks very much to our hosts!

    Great location in Reefton and the West Coast in general! Great historical property being enhanced by the current management… Excellent value but remember this in an old building/one plug in room etc… Lovely quiet accommodation and a beautiful garden setting, the grounds are well kept by the groundsman! I will stay again gladly and loved my three nights at The Nurses Home…LOVELY staff from management to the cleaners - well done guys see you next time!

    We had unit 15 which was large and comfortable, with a couch and chairs to relax in. The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is in the main street so the location is very good. The hotel does excellent meals in the bar, and the atmosphere is very good. Reefton was cool when we were there and the woodturner in the middle of the bar/restaurant was very welcome.
