We visited for a private family function.
We visited for a private family function. So didn't have much time for sightseeing. The Thai restaurant Lemon Grass we had dinner at on the evening of our arrival was very good. The town very easy to drive around and find supermarkets. We didn't really have time to do anything else Our accommodation the Black Horse Inn was excellent and would definitely stay again.JamesNew Zealand - Scored 8.08.0

L lovely, friendly town. Close to Hamilton. Easy to get around. Easy to find a car park. Rose gardens were beautifully maintained unfortunately couldn’t walk around them due to rain. Shops and staff very accommodating. Eatery and restaurant great. Recommend Goldern Horse Chinese Restaurant and Roast House for meals.

Te Awamutu is a pretty town with easy access to the surrounding areas. Would recommend a stroll through the 'Walk of Fame' which was very interesting and informative about local people and history. Also the Rose Garden well worth visiting.AAnonymous - Scored 6.06.0

Te Awamutu is a country town but has most things there you need but not a Hospital. It has a beautiful rose garden you can walk around. The shops are okay not alot of variety. It is easy driving to Hamilton, Cambridge and Waitomo Caves so nice to stay out of big towns. It is a very friendly place and people helpful. Eating places are nice and plenty cafes. They had good oportunity shops if you are into second hand stuff. Enjoyed the town. They had a fantastic library and swimming facilities that was built by raising money by the community itself. There is a bus service to Hamilton at a reasonable price and variable times. For seniors its free in the hours for Gold Card which is great.

My family and I attended a wedding, We went to the RSA for dinner. The food was awesome, staff and locals pleasant. I had my hair done for the wedding at KBL & Hair. Very happy with the service and the young lady standard was at a very high level. I was surprise by the quality of clothing shops, which I brought a dress at CBR. This was a great central base for exploring the Waikato.
This was a great central base for exploring the Waikato. Everything you need in one place and you can still get a park on the main road. Take a look at the Waipa District Waikato Wars self tours to experience some of the history of the area and understand the significance they had on the history of Aotearoa New Zealand.
