Te Awamutu is a sleep cosy town that is safe to get around in the day or night. It offers many places to eat as well as a light night club scene(weekend's only) but also RSA that have music and a comfortable atmosphere for the older generation. It's 35mins to lovely Raglan or Kawhia beach and an hour to the Mount. Waitomo caves a short trip down the road too. A modern town with old fashioned values!
There were a number of good restaurants to choose from for dinner and breakfast. They were within walking distance of our accommodation. We went for a long walk around the town one morning and came across a flea market, which was fun. There were any number of interesting retail shops including a fabulous little antique shop. In short, great amenities and easy access.
Te Awamutu is a great Town, we walked through the back of Asure Albert Motor Park to the Waipa Club, a beautiful meal, great staff and very reasonably priced. Enjoyed our stay in Te Awamutu known as the "Rose Town"
We loved Te Awamutu. It was our first visit there other than to just pass through. There are some very pretty areas and the cafe we visited was outstanding. Our motel was great and there were plenty of shops. Its also just a short distance from Hamilton.

One of the nicest, cleanest and cosiest motels we have stayed in for a long time. The rooms were well presented, clean and comfortable. Lovely to have bodywash supplied in the shower rather than those ridiculus small round bits of soap. The bed was divine. Thank you to our hosts. AAA+++
