United StatesThe location was exquisite with the most breathtaking views of New Zealand hills, trees and the sea. We expected rain and we could have sat there all day and just gazed at the view. But fortunately, we didn't receive more than a little rain. The walks around the property were absolutely lovely, and quiet. Our hosts were very warm and helpful. The architecture and design features of the buildings, as well as all the thoughtful amenities such as umbrellas, picnic basket, beach towels, and blankets to sit under the stars, added to the dreamlike quality of our stay. I highly recommend this beautiful property.

Everyone said you must go to Shnapper Rock Cafe. Well too expensive for us. $110 for a steak?? $110 for a lamb roast?? We found that incredible so no lovely dinner out for us. We did have a cheaper lunch but really wanted a great dinner.

This is a place for setting off to the Poor Knight Islands...
This is a place for setting off to the Poor Knight Islands marine reserve for diving. There are some very scenic views on walks. The village has a few restaurants and a cafe. I stayed in the dead of winter and there were few people about. Mornings were cold. I'd revisit Tutukaka.

Loved the little village of Tutukaka, the breathtaking scenery and the delicious food we had at Marina Woodfired Dining. The Poor Knights trip on the Perfect Day Ocean Cruise was a must do. Matapouri Beach is stunning and the takeaways from the Matapouri Corner Store were delish. Thoroughly enjoyed our time in Tutukaka.

We stayed 5 nights at Tutukaka and tried each restaurant there. All within very short walking distances from Oceans Hotel.We went to Matapouri Bay a couple of days and then travelled to Whananaki another day which is a bit of a distance and a metal corrugated road. Definitely take a sun umbrella with you to all the beaches unless you want to fry! There are no trees on the beaches I really think the shops at Tutukaka should hire out beach equipment such as umbrellas etc. There is a lovely deli there and if I was them, I would be offering sandwiches / picnics for beach goers who are staying in the hotel.

We visited in November when there were no crowds.
We visited in November when there were no crowds. The road in and out was nice and quiet. Beaches empty. We especially enjoyed the local Anglers club. Beautiful food, good music and friendly staff.

My Wife and I stayed at Tutukaka for our Anniversary.
We enjoyed our stay, it was a hot day and we had a swim in the pool before going to dinner.
The room met our expectations and plan to return again in the future and maybe bring our kids with us next time.

The location of this hotel is stunning with
vista views from room and grounds. I could name a few hotels with better views however they are major city hotels or a hotel directory overlooking the beach. This hotel offers views of the natural world and will take some beating.
Our hosts were very welcoming and their information booking was very well presented particularly local spots to visit, photos of beaches good. Ian you remind me of our oldest son, making sure to dot the Is and cross the T's.

The welcome was wonderful. The location was splendid. It was so quite and peaceful after 16 days of stop start travel up the East Coast of Northland, across the top and down the West Coast to Tutukaka.
The beach was just outside the back door and the sound of the surf was soothing to the soul.
You will need to take your grocery supplies or drive back to Tutukaka or Ngunguru for shopping.
Don't miss the opportunity if it suits your schedule.

A very nice hotel. Everything you expect with a modern hotel. International standart. A restaurant with breakfast and nice food for dinner is in the same building. There is not much to do in Titkaka if you are not into diving. The town, if you can say so, is very small. It mainly is the hotel building including restaurant, supermarket and shops and family homes.

Beautiful location. Very friendly and accomodating host with a lovely dog. Location is very convenient as it's close to Tutukaka for my diving activities. There is a lovely trail to a hidden cove with amazing sea views.

Every detail was thought of, hosts were friendly, welcoming and hospitable. Highly recommend this accommodation for a relaxing holiday in the beautiful Tutukaka Coast.
