The historical Chateau Tongariro Hotel impresses with its grand architecture and interiors, location in the Tongariro National Park and facilities, which include a 9-hole golf course and a cinema. The hotel is a grand mansion with a great mountain view. I went there in August and many guests enjoyed the snow outside the hotel. The food at the restaurant was fabulous and delicious. The staff were friendly and nice.
Set in National Park, Mountain Heights Lodge offers six self-contained motel units and four ensuite B&B rooms, BnB rooms welcomes children over the age of 14 and above. Private parking is free. I felt home away from home, thanks to the warm welcome and simply wonderful hospitality. Woke up with seeing the rabbits in the morning and a stunning night sky in the eve. Rooms were super tidy and there was plenty of space. You had everything in the room to make you feel home. Parking was very convenient, right outside the door.
Ruapehu Retreat is a spacious and self-catering holiday home located in National Park. It is set in a convenient location for guests to explore the Tongariro National Park and wider Ruapehu region. My family and i absolutely loved the warmth of this holiday home, and it felt like home away from home. Neat clean and warm, i would love to return one day. Thank you so much for letting us stay in your Holiday home.
Located in the Tongariro National Park, The Park Hotel Ruapehu offers affordable accommodations in a stunning alpine setting. Guests are provided with free parking and 500MB of free WiFi. Very nice location in Tongariro area. Shuttles to Tongariro Alpine Crossing can be arranged at the reception. Very friendly staff. Restaurant on site.
Nice and calm, but no any supermarkets. Should do some shopping before coming to live here, as it's expensive to buy everything in hotel/resort, as well menu's are not full of many choices. If it's raining, it's not a lot to do, just chilling in your hotels.
The scenery was beautiful, definitely a spot to come for skiing, we weren't able to spend the time enjoying these activities. dinner at the Ruapehu room was delicious, plunge pool was a nice relaxing extra.
We really enjoyed interacting with staff and locals. Was relaxed and quiet. Really appreciated the nature experience and walks. And the complimentary bottle of wine for our anniversary. The information centre was excellent and provided essential and helful information.
Whakapapa village was great. With kids it was just as well we took plenty of snack foods that they like, as there aren't any food shops - which is part of its beauty. I loved that there are soo many different walks you can do, as well as the skiing option of course.
