Private Desert Bedoua House is located 20 km inside Wahiba Desert in the top of the dunes, for spectacular sunset and sunrise view. It was a wonderful stay in the Bedouin ladies house. We communicate with hands as she don’t know much English, but we felt like in our own home after few minutes and enjoyed the sunset and sitting in the sand very much. Meals were so delicious and the sleep under stars was our highlight. We couldn’t drive our own car, because we only had a small suv , and booked the transfer additional. She is a very good desert driver and we had much fun.
Set in Al Rakah, the oasis of Sharqiyah sands, Home X4 offers accommodation with a flat-screen TV, a kitchen and free private parking. Some units include a seating area and/or a balcony. Great Location with amazing views. The size of the rooms and the comfort was great. The brother of the owner provided us with the most memorable desert experiences for breakfast and dinner. FANTASTIC!
Perfect choice if you want a small comfortable camp, with basically nothing to do...no wi fi or buggies.... although they will arrange dawn or dusk camel rides (approx £15) and I think "dune bashing" which we saw, but did not do. The dawn camel ride escorted by a Bedouin was etherial and great experience, highly recommended. Food was "basic" but excellent and tasty. Sultan tent was very comfy with good bathroom, shower and HOT water! You need a 4 x 4 to get there as its about 15km from main road and we would recommend spending 30 OMR for their escort to come and initially meet you at the gas station on main road. Once you have made the journey you can easily navigate it again, but its quite isolated so the escort was reassuring. All staff very welcoming and helpful. Recommend 2 night stay, one is not enough!
This was an incredible experience for my friend and I to sleep in the desert under the stars. We were blown away how peaceful and tranquil our surroundings were at Shooting Star Camp; it was the reason our stay so enjoyable. Ahmed, the owner, was a very responsive and generous host who made our stay as great as it was. He escorted us into the desert and had his colleague Mohammed prepare us great meals. I will certainly be reaching out to Ahmed again for similar trips and without a doubt recommend him and his camp to future guests. Being alone in the desert with only 2 chalets was a once in a lifetime experience that we won't soon forget. Seeing a million stars and hearing absolutely nothing was deeply gratifying and felt like food for the soul!
As a newbie to a desert stay it was great as an overnight experience. Dune bashing at sunset and a camel ride at sunrise was wonderful. Definitely a must when on a visit to Oman. Great food very comfortable room and the entertainment was fun.
Well organized with transfer to the camp and next day we did camel trekking from the camp back to the village. We shared with another couple, but feel still privacy and much care like home. And many thanks for friendly "Hazel" She make a wonderful organization
The access roads are good and the area is more geared for tourists than other parts of Oman. We didn't spend enough time in the area to do it justice but it is certainly toddler friendly with camel rides and sand boarding with Dad. Well worth a visit.
