FAQs about hotels in Cusco

Timeless Incan Capital

Although it's considered the oldest inhabited city of the Americas and Peru's historical capital, neither of these truly describes the magic enchantment and colorful people of Cuzco. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, its current shape is the colonial result of building on top of many Incan sites, a good example of which is the Cathedral of Santo Domingo.

Must-see places include the walled complex of Sacsayhuamán and the remains of the main temple of Coricancha, dedicated to the Sun God, Inti. For longer Cuzco stays, hotels nePlaza de Armas central square are ideal to fully enjoy the city. Due to its 11,150-foot altitude, some Cuzco hotels offer oxygen to help their guests.

Moray, supposedly an ancient experimental agricultural station, is 29 miles away, and Lake Titicaca is 240 miles away. The road to Machu Picchu is the famous Inca Trail or "Camino Inca," which encompasses settlements, different Andean environments, and many Incan ruins.

Alejandro Velasco Astete International Airport offers services to Lima. Arriving at Wanchaq Train Station or Terminal Terrestre de Cusco bus station are also popular choices. Come to visit the ancient jewel, enjoy Peru and Cuzco with the hotel deals available on Booking.com!

A remarkable place to visit, with a huge number a restaurants, retail outlets, although can get crazy with people everywhere walking on narrow pavements and motor vehicles brushing past when forced on to the roads! Just make sure you can speak Spanish as I struggled with my basic knopwledge and saved bny Google translate especially when speaking to the owner.

I stayed in Cusco for 8 days. The people are kind and amazing. Just make sure you take medication and spread out your tours. The altitude really is hard to do a lot. Beautiful place and appreciate the people that live in Cusco.

Cusco is so vibrant and a very walkable city.

Cusco is so vibrant and a very walkable city. It was always bustling with tourists and locals alike but always felt safe. The local people were amazing and welcoming. The food was excellent, not one restaurant disappointed and the plating....wow! The dogs too were soooo adorable! The only drawback was how incredibly intense persons were intent on selling their items or services.

Cusco is a must see! We came back after 20yrs and recommend to hurry and go cause unfortunately with progress comes the losing of the city character... Don't know what happen to this place but the amount of plastic rubbish and pollution is really sad, that aside is a beautiful place

The historic centre is beautiful - lovely buildings everywhere and is great to just amble around and take a break in the Plazas. There are tons of restaurants to suit all budgets too. We only stayed for 2 nights but should’ve stayed for 4, seeing as there are so many trips you can go to from Cusco.

A visit to Cusco centers on its vibrant, historic core.

A visit to Cusco centers on its vibrant, historic core. Expect the area to be bustling, but the rewards are countless, from exploring the preserved architecture to dining at exceptional restaurants that highlight Peru's acclaimed cuisine. A quick tip for navigating the city: the heavy traffic means diesel fumes can occasionally be strong. Finally, take advantage of the superb shopping opportunities for unique souvenirs. You might even want to buy an inexpensive bag locally to handle all your purchases on the flight back.

I loved my time at this wonderful little hotel in Cusco. It’s located a few minutes walk from San Blas market and about 15 mins from Plaza de Armas. It’s a beautiful new building with spotless rooms and lots of natural light. There’s always hot water available. Breakfast is served quickly and is simple and filling. The owners/staff are super friendly and I wouldn’t choose anywhere else to stay in Cusco.

Magic hotel in the San Blas district of Cusco. The hotel feels like a cosy wooden home with a colourful flower garden in the centre. The rooms are perfectly confortable and quite big. It's right across the road from San Blas Market and 10 minute walk from the centre of town. My favourite brekkie of the trip, the staff are super kind and make the best pancake and fruit breakfast.
