The French influence in Tahiti is everywhere and I loved it.
The French influence in Tahiti is everywhere and I loved it. Food is amazing, I had great meals out and the Carrefour supermarkets are better stocked than my local supermarkets here in the UK. I just liked the vibe. There are lots of places to eat and drink, decent shopping to be had and I liked the people. The port where you can catch boats to other islands is in town too!

I enjoyed the Markets the most and the street stalls.
I enjoyed the Markets the most and the street stalls.
I loved the fresh pastries - especially the bread sticks
I found finding a place in town was better for us, as the cost for taxi's was very pricey.
I would avoid staying out in the suburbs and ensure to have an offline currency converter handy as there were times i got caught off guard and ended paying double the amount I intended.

Little to do in the city aside from shopping.
Little to do in the city aside from shopping. That all stops on Sundays entirely, and largely disappears on Saturday afternoons too. Public transport is almost impossible, not helped by the website or the tourism office. There are no beaches walkable from the city centre, so you're left needing to find a tour, a public bus (not on sundays though), or renting a car/scooter.

Papeete is a good destination. Don' stay at hotes downtown. Too hard n to get around with uneven footpaths and cars parked were pedestrians should have access. Stay at a resort west of the airport

Papeete as a city is not the nicest to look at but we enjoyed our time here. The town centre is bustling, market very cool and the waterfront area is lovely. Lots of good places to eat and great to walk around.

Papetee is a lovely town with great infrastructure and facilities. There are many nice boutique shops as well as big supermarkets for groceries. There is an active and fun nightlife on Friday and Saturday nights. There are many nice restaurants and bars. It is however a very expensive place. Due to the i,portation of most produce there is a high ticket price on pretty much everything. To keep costs down I recommend a self catered accomodation type.
Great property, modern and welcoming, right next to the ferry building. Room is truly a cabin, small but functional which worked great for us for one night in Papeete before leaving the country the next day. We only had one backpack each with what we needed which was great since the suitcases would’ve have fit inside the room.
Shared bathrooms were also modern and clean.
They have a great rooftop bar and a restaurant - the food was good.
Staff was super nice and accommodating given our very late flight the next day.
Would recommend.
This hotel gave us mixed feelings. The suite was very nice and clean, looked recently renovated. The lobby as well, looks very good. The outside of the hotel though, looks really bad, and so does the swimming pool area, with missing tiles, and fitness devices deposited near the pool.
Hotels in Papeete are very expensive, but this one was not cheap either. The room looked 4*, but the outside looks like a 2*. It's a pity, as with some renovation work it would be an ok hotel.
A good thing is the hotel has a very spacious garage.
Studio is cute, clean and 10 minutes from citycenter, where is all life in Papeete. Near is supermarket, aphoteke, car rental, bakery and on top of the roof is pool. In studio is coffemaker, hairdryer, refrigerator , aircondition... Owners are very very helpful and kind. Comunication with them is level milion. When was studio ready, they wrote me for early check in. It was very helpful for as and pay with casch was possible. After two weeks sail we came back for another two nights
Spacious property on the hill just outside Papeete centre. Great for family stay with space to cook and chill as well as off street parking. 10 min drive into the the city with all the facilities you would need and only 15-20 mins to the airport. A car is recommended to make the most of your trip to Papeete.
Wendy was an amazing host very supportive and easily accessible, she went above and beyond to help us and ensure our trip was spectacular. Cannot recommend her enough.
More than anything, the hosts Jackie and Joy were wonderful! Jackie stayed in constant communication to insure I found the apt and Joy was incredibly accommodating, even providing a transfer to the airport at an ungodly hour.
This is a spotless apt, has everything you need, and in a great location. However, it is basic accommodations. It’s not a five star hotel. It was perfect for my needs, but if you’re hoping for a resort with a pool, this is not for you.
We made our own breakfast, kitchen was so nice and clean and the owner went out of his way to make sure we had , water ,juice , coffee ,tea plus 2 cans of beer for the boys . We were very pleased with the service provided by the owner. He helped as we get into the property and picked us from airport, dropped us to town and picked us again. Can't thank him enough. Best service ever, we are giving five star 🌟 🌟🌟🌟🌟.
Great location in Papeete near the port and within a short walking distance to restaurants and other attractions!
Nils from from desk was super helpful and gave great recommendations for tours and anything to make your stay in Tahiti and Papeete even more memorable!
Don’t be shy to ask him!
Plus Kon Tiki is a great value for your money and has something for everyone!
Plus the breakfast is worth trying with great omelettes!
It was our first time visiting Tahiti and Papeete and we decided to stay in the capital and explore on foot. The location of the apartment was perfect for us and everything we needed was in walking distance. The apartment was very quiet and the bed very comfortable (hard mattress). The quiet pool was perfect for cooling off after a day of exploring the city. Thank you so much again for everything.
Very lovely and affordable hostel. Right in the center of Papeete, across from the Tahiti market, walking distance to ferry, 8 min drive to airport. Maui the owner is incredibly helpful and organized. I had such a pleasant experience here i returned. Friendly atmosphere good for stopping at as a stop over on your way to explore the islands.
Good for a 1-2 night stay if you are exploring Papeete. The hotel is extremely clean, aircon worked well. Staff went above and beyond to accommodate everything. Free pickup from the ferry was smooth and drop off at the airport went well as well. The location is walking distance to the city center, and parking was easy. Would stay again.
Amazing price for the location, great sized room with very comfortable bed. 5min walk from the ferry dock in Papeete, perfect for an overnight stay before heading to Mo’orea. Don’t expect a luxury resort, the hotel is more for convenience. Nearby food trucks were amazing. Staff was helpful and so friendly. Would come again!
Great pool with beautiful sundown. Live music around the weekend. Supermarket and small shopping mall reachable via food bridge from the hotel. Close to airport and city center (20-30 minutes walk). Specious room, friendly staff. Good restaurants. Trip to Moorea via ferry, which is a short taxi ride away.
We choose this location because it's a short distance to the ferry for the other islands. Also the host did pick us up at the airport at 1am . That was very well arranged and very thankful when you arrive the first time in Tahiti. The room is nothing special and quite expensive for what it is.
Liked the locality to markets shops ferry &
Having a car park easy walking distance to everything
The place was very clean & had everything you needed Great communication with owner
This place is so central 9 mins from airport
Great place to stay if you are in Papeete
The location was perfect. I caught a ferry the day after a very long flight to Tahiti. I was able to take a short walk from the hotel directly to the pier and board a morning ferry to the island of Moorea, which was extremely convenient.
Nicely appointed, clean rooms with basic but decent shower/bathroom/kitchen facilities. Short walk to Papeete Markets, ferry terminal and bus stops. The Host, Vanessa is an absolute wonder woman, and made the stay like a second home
Beautiful black sand beach, very friendly staff, excellent Tahitian show on Thursday. Fresh water bottle provided daily. Nicely updated rooms. Ours was ocean front with a hot tub. Nice pool area. I would definitely come back!
Hotel is well located and quaint. Provides many areas for comfortable outside seating. There is a free shuttle provided to the airport or ferry terminal.
