Location - just a few mins walk to Sabang Beach Staff - friendly and accommodating Room was comfortable. Bathroom was clean. I didn’t notice if there was a care kit. I didn’t ask because we brought our own. Towels were provided though. The whole place looked cute, especially the reception area. There were cards and board games too.

Great location, lovely little chalets with everything you need. The pool is fresh water and kept very clean. Free kayak on site to use and you can go direct down the river & coconut plantations to the ocean mouth - perfect for sunrise! The staff were out of this world friendly: they noticed Im a tea drinker and i awake to a kettle placed outside my chalet for free usage - very kind & thoughtful!

We hired someone to ride with us and took us to some of the spots of Baler. We went off Diguisit Rock formation and Baler hanging bridge. Sabang beach is a must visit when you are in Baler. It offers you a stunning view of the Pacific Ocean, and Sierra Madre Mountain range. I learned this is where the surfing craze started in the Philippines way back in the 1970’s. Baler is a nice place to experience though travel a bit long, it was nice that is is not that develop so you can still feel the beach and privincial vibe, though not so many souvenir shop or products originated from baler or aurora.

There were no waves at all (I assumed that 2 weeks before the official season opening, we might gave small swell....I was wrong) The stay was too long because there were no waves, nothing much to do in the area beside the beach and waves (I mean there are stuff to do but not for 5 days without waves)

Baler is a great place to stay in order to experience the sights up and down the coastline. There is a good selection of accommodation and eating places, and the whole atmosphere is laid-back. Try and get there on weekdays - weekends and holiday times can get hectic.

I liked that the hotel and area isn't crowded even though we went during peak period. The beach area have the dark volcanic sand but it's not a deterrent. The trash left by local visitors around the beach before and after the hotel area is certainly a disappointment. Why doesn't the local government provide trash cans by the beaches and fine those who ignore using them. There isn't a lot of local food to try nearby. Just a seafood bbq place that have a very long service time.

I loved Baler.

I loved Baler. I have been to the Philippines many times as we have family there. But apart from a trip to Cebu and a couple of provinces where family members live, I have seen more of Manila than anywhere else and this trip to Baler was about ticking a few notable places off my list of must see destinations. And the location of the opening scenes of the movie Apocalypse Now was pretty high on the list. Sabang beach is something else and every bit worth the effort to get to. We went on probably at the most crowded time possible. School holidays during the Easter long weekend when pretty much all but essential workers have a few days off and it seemed like everyone who lived within a couple of hundred k's were there! According to Trip Advisor not a vacancy at any one of 161 hotels in the area (we discovered that on our last night there after being so let down by a QANTAS Hotels booking not honoured). This place is a must visit for anyone wanting to see more of the Philippines than just the listed tourist destinations. Despite there being so many people there enjoying this fairly unique surf beach I saw only a couple of other Westerners. This truely is a local experience.

I love everything, what more do you need in Baler? This is the perfect accommodation for out of country tourists like me. The staff were super accommodating and very warm. The location is perfect for those that came here to surf as it's nearby sabang beach, just a few minute walk and you're set. The room was clean and I was given a free upgrade, what more can I say? My time in the Philippines was made better because of this place. A thousand times better.

Nothing!! We arrived at the end of the road and had to go off roading to reach our destination! We felt scared, unsafe, left the the hotel and ended up staying at a different hotel (Costa Pacifica Resort) We do not recommend damara resort to anyone! We were very disappointed!!

Fairly clean with comfy beds. Accomodating staff. Fair priced. Good location if youre not planning to surf (we go to Baler, usually for business). It's along T. Molina St which is a main road. Not very far from the beach, you can easily take a tricycle.
