PhilippinesIt was located in a clean, nice environment with easy access to eateries, public transpo, supermarket, church etc. Right-sized pool, enough and spacious elevators, wonderful dining area and aesthetic reception area. The beach was a 10-minute walk away but they have a jeepney to shuttle guests to and from beach area. All staff showed courtesy and friendly demeanor especially the guards, pool lifeguard, and restaurant service staff.

The people are very friendly, but they are everywhere in the Philippines.
I would suggest avoiding the island and Cebu city.
You would be better off in Bohol etc. Far more beautiful.

It's a wonderful hotel that you don't need to leave for your stay. It has everything. The staff are world-class and the food is first class. They surprised us when they found out it was our anniversary with a complimentary bottle of wine.

There are so many better places in S/E Asia to go for a nice time at the beach. Mactan is not one of them. I went for the IronMan and would never go for vacation there. Very poor availability of night life, sea and beach are mediocre.

We went to Mactan for a wedding and caught a 'Grab' taxi...
We went to Mactan for a wedding and caught a 'Grab' taxi from the airport to the accommodation for about A$15. We had a room with a view to the sea, but could also see the housing of the locals, which contrasted to the fancy hotels - so sad to see the living conditions of locals. The area where we stayed was rather quiet and was safe for walking without too much traffic.

Great beaches on Mactan Island.
Great beaches on Mactan Island. Also some good nearby attractions like Lapu-Lapu statue, Mactown Newtown, 10,000 Roses Cafe.
You will also find more sites in Cebu city like Fort San Pedro, Magellan's Cross, Sto. Nino Church, Temple of Leah, Sirao Flower Garden, Little Kyoto, and Tops Overlook.

Very reasonable prices for taxis and other transport to get around. Lovely cool shopping malls. Food is very, very good. The staff everywhere are lovely - exceptionally friendly without being intrusive.

The house is just ten minutes taxi ride to the airport so it is convenient to stay the day before the departure.
