We loved pretty much everything. From the door to the pillows, from the facilities to the guards. The service really was on another level. Guards greet you and open doors without fail, always carrying your bags. The staff were very accommodating and got everything done swiftly. The pool is huge and the gym has most of the things you would need to keep on top of your training, while on holiday of course.

Although it was Christmas season when we stayed in Edsa Shangri-La, we had an amazing experience. It is where my cousin's wedding's reception took place, so it was very convenient for us. I cannot fault their incredible staff who provided best service, big rooms and central location, plus the buffet breakfast is something wouldn't wanna miss. Infact, we extended for another night to just relax and enjoy our stay ❤️

FAQs about hotels in Manila

The City of Our Affections

With a rich mix of influences from Indian, Chinese, Spanish and American cultures, Manila is the vibrant capital of the Philippines and its cultural and economic center. Thanks to the trade with Latin America during the three centuries of Spanish colonization, Manila became an important city, known as the "Pearl of the Orient."

Don’t miss a visit to the Spanish remains in the Intramuros district. Important landmarks in the area are the Malacañan Palace, the City Hall, and the Manila Cathedral.

Rizal Park is a national icon, while the Baywalk promenade is great for enjoying the well-known city sunsets. Ermita and Malate districts are famous for the nightlife, trendy shopping and restaurants, as well as for some luxury Manila hotels. Between the promenade and the districts, its easy to see why Filipinos call Manila “The City of Our Affections,” where the people's love affairs with fashion, music, entertainment and sheer fun are on bright and beautiful display.

Divisoria is a traditional district for local shopping, bargains and typical food. Binondo is the oldest Chinatown in the world.

For hotels in Manila near the airport, Ninoy Aquino International Airport is not far from Makati City.

It's been a happy moment seeing all the progress and the city's beautiful tourist destinations. Hope to visit several areas together with my family next time around. The worst thing is that there is so much traffic that it can worsen my staycation in Manila.

For people who are used to living in cities, I highly recommend the Malate district of Manila. You can see the vibrant energy of the people there, and the food ranges from high-end to street food. It's often said to be a dangerous city, but I didn't feel particularly scared during my trip there. You can sense the dangerous areas by the atmosphere. And Filipinos are very kind, always greeting you with a smile. It's fun just to watch them. It's a great country.

It is the people who make up a city, and for sure, this is why I love Manila. I have visited Manila 5 times in the last two years, and each time I feel more and more at home. Planning is key for Metro Manila activities. Traffic is, well, bad. It takes a while to get somewhere, and I don't plan any travel other than walking during rush hour. BGC and Makati are two very modern areas of Metro Manila. Very clean, safe, and affordable. There seems to be a mall on every corner, and your choice of hotel or condo accommodations. The NAIA airport is located at the southern end of the city and offers flights to any of the other amazing parts of the Philippines. If you enjoy the beach, scuba, or snorkeling, make the Philippines a destination.

Manila is a big city with a lot to offer.

Manila is a big city with a lot to offer. The malls are humongous! All kinds of good-quality products are there, store or brand names that sell only their brand, for example: JBL, Sony, Samsung, etc. Well-stocked supermarkets. Places to visit there: The Ocean Park, The Rizal Park, Intramuros, lots of history here! Hire a tourist guide; he will show or explain to you a lot about the Philippines, history, colonization, and beyond! Lots of places to eat delicious local dishes. By the way, a tip is not required in the Philippines. Being accustomed to tipping all my life, of course, I tip them. If planning a trip to Manila, get the Grab app on your phone; don't use a taxi; Grab is just like Uber, very efficient, you know ahead of time the cost of the trip, etc. Polite drivers, clean vehicles, etc. By the way, folks, it is a very safe city! We did not feel any threat whatsoever while we were there, did President Duterte make the city safe? Like any big city around the world, I am sure there are areas no too safe.

This time my room was very quiet not close to the bridge as I was on the upper floor. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The food in the restaurant was great. I really appreciate that I could leave my suitcase while I travelled to a different country. This option I really appreciate. The hotel is very close to the airport that’s why I always chose this hotel every time I’m in Manila.

The room had everything we needed. If you want to experience being right in the middle of Manila, this place is for you. No tourists around, though there were many at the hotel itself. The room had enough space for us as a couple, with a convenient little kitchenette. The shuttle to the airport in the morning was very convenient as well.
