Not our first trip but we enjoyed shopping and the brewery (Papa Bolo) was well worth a visit for the beers and the free tour. Ate at Surugin Japanese restuarant which was excellent. Easy to get around but watch you don't get overcharged.

We only stayed 3 nights to see Taal Lake. The weather was not on our side while we were there so we didn't get out as much as we would have liked. Tagaytay seems to be the more upscale area with malls, western restaurants, massive hotels, the tacky Sky Ranch and tower blocks but that doesn't make it pleasant. Its best feature is really the view of the lake which you can enjoy at any of the numerous overpriced restaurants and bars perched on the ridge with panoramic views. Be aware that on weekends some of the roads are one-way only. We suspect they assume this eases traffic but from what we saw it just creates massive unmanageable choke points and huge traffic jams. Talisay, right on the lake, on the other hand is a bit more of a dusty, sleepy town with very little going on other than persistent boat trip salespeople who want to charge a lot of money for a relatively short boat ride. If you want to do this it's better to go in a group to reduce the cost. All in all I'd say it's worth the visit for the view alone but it's definitely not a place to relax, unwind, absorb the incredible view and marvel at the sheer magnificence of nature. I'd recommend staying somewhere out of town.

Tagaytay is amazing place to relax, unwind esp it’s to diefor taal view! It’s weather for me is the best! Restaurants/bars, talipapa, supermarkt are just around the corner! It’s people in general are friendly ! What we didn’t like about Tagaytay is it’s traffic! So much traffic n weekends are bumper to bumper ! I wish the mayor n the traffic enforcer can think of more better Solution !

Tagaytay is good for a quick city getaway. Weather is good during Christmas season. But as always, traffic is terrible. But the new express way (CALAX) at least helps in getting into the city proper quickly. We spent most of our time in crosswinds and taal vista, both very good places for dining/relaxation. Twin lakes is also good. There are lots of other good restaurants, balay dako, antonios, bag of beans, but don’t want to travel much because of the traffic. One resto i missed is Josephines which we found out has already closed.

Ive requested 2 bed rooms for my family to stay in Tagaytay - I was not around during this time. Ive requested for connecting rooms. The hotel staff provided a complimentary bday cake for my mom which was sweet. The kids enjoyed the pool, the uninterrupted taal view and the themepark next to the hotel. Free 4 breakfast was included in the room. I just wish they allow kids to have a free breakfast as they do not eat each much lol. Anyway they reakon it was great stay and enjoyed Taal vista hospitality as usual. Cheers guys.

I also appreciate that they provided coffee, crackers, bottled water, alcohol and toilet paper. We could heat our food in the microwave. My husband loved the interior design, so cozy yet modern. It was also a stone's throw away from Affinitrees where we attended a wedding reception. The host was also very quick to respond. We will be back for sure.
