Severely destroyed in 1945, Wroclaw was beautifully restored and became one of the country’s highlights. Its Old Town, with one of the largest town squares in Europe, attracts tourists with colorful townhouses, cozy pubs and street stalls.
Make sure to visit the Ostrow Tumski, known also as the Cathedral Island, featuring the impressive Wroclaw Cathedral from the mid-10th century and romantic cobblestone streets with oil lamps hand-lit every night. Or visit a famous 360-degree view painting of the Battle of Raclawice - the Raclawice Panorama.

I was with 2 friends, one of who had been before, so she knew a bit about the place and booked a few trips/walking tour for us.
The city centre of Wroclaw is lovely and look out for the 'famous' dwarfs, which are everywhere. Loads of restaurants with lots of choice of food. Our favourite was next door to The Hard rock cafe, where you get traditional Pergonis, cant remember the name of it...Yes, there's even a McDonald's!...Also if you want another traditional food place, you must try the Milk Bars, there is two in the Market Hall, as you go in the main entrance, on the right, the food is lovely, good choice and really cheap. Lots of locals eat there, we had our first meal there and very impressed. Check out the ice cream shops too , lovely flavours and very cheap. Lots of cake shops for the sweet toothed traveller, try the Chimney cake shop for something different.
It's easy to get around the town and if you want to go further, there are trams or buses on the main streets.

The central plaza is very nice, and the city has enough things to be done for two or three days. Once you come out of the old town, the old soviet influenced buildings show off immediately, but there are charming spots to be found and nice museums outside of that area.

There’s so much to see in Wroclaw!
There’s so much to see in Wroclaw! We’re glad we only had two days, though, as our kids were exhausted from all the walking. We explored the Old Town, searched for the famous gnomes, and visited the Raclawice Panorama, Wroclaw University Museum, Ostrow Tumski, the Zoo & Afrykarium, and the Ethnographic Museum.

We booked a walking tour that was originally supposed to last an hour but turned into an enjoyable 3-hour adventure! I truly appreciated the time and knowledge the tour guide provided.
During our visit, three restaurants stood out. Kospira is a great choice if you’re looking to try Polish cuisine. It’s somewhat hidden but clearly popular with locals, and the food was a solid 10/10. In the Old Town Centre, don’t miss Ceska—it offers the best beer I’ve ever tasted. Lastly, for a change of pace, Italian Restaurant Capri is excellent.
For breakfast, I highly recommend Jolie. They serve breakfast all day, and the quality of the products is simply outstanding. I only wish these fantastic places were closer, but I look forward to visiting again on my next trip.
Excquisite breakfast (best I ever had in any hotel and I have been in many!), spotless clean rooms, huge smart TV, comfiest bed, super friendly staff, nice facilities, very cool chilling area downstairs with good artbooks and free coffee x tea. We had a great stay, could really wind down and relax in our room after a busy day (had the best afternoon nap ever in this hotel!), and would definitely book again if travelling in Poland.
i did stay in this hotel many times now and will stay probably even more. it’s cheap you have a bed and a shower small TV close to main road easy access to city centre via tram ideal for a one night stay Uber to airport cost me about £6 so it’s good as well.
The hotel was around 10 minute walk to the old town, a few minutes from the mall, tons of restaurants, and coffee shops nearby, and the 106 bus stop to the airport is around 10 minute walk. the room was spacious and nice and warm
