Small and peaceful, this hotel is a great place to relax and explore the sandy beaches of Costa Vicentina Natural Park. It offers an outdoor pool with a spacious sun deck. The rates in off season in March (45€ incl. breakfast) were very good for the quality of the hotel. Very clean, good breakfast, nice pool.

Aljezur is a small town....we visited the tourist information centre who advised us to take a walk along the river which we did returning back to the town via a very steep walk up to the castle. The view of the surrounding countryside were terrific...the walk took us through the old part of the town through winding lanes and cobbled street...very picturesque cottages...well worth the walk and climb. Unfortunately we continued up to the castle, which was not worth the walk...so I would not recommend that particular part of the walk. If you are unable to walk up to the castle you can drive up, but it is very disappointing when you get inside the castle..nothing to see and very scruffy inside. All in all it was worth the visit to this nice rural town.
You need a car, but at Easter the area is so uncrowded that meeting other road users was rare, even on the one main road. This is one of the least populated areas of the EU. We tourists have not yet changed the Aljezur district, although there are a lot of camper vans. The locals are reserved but very easy to get on with, especially if you have the basic politenesses of Portuguese. Don't rely on credit cards.
Praia de clerigo is beautiful and the surrounding is great Good to relax Nice beaches and good restaurants Do not forget the old village and the litte indoor msrket. Good variety of local products The avocado honey is unforgettable
The Aljezur area has great scenery and numerous unbelievable beaches. It is a quiet area very popular with surfers and walkers. Night life is a meal out at one of a number of restaurants, no disco clubs that I know of.
Aljezur is a very calm and beautiful place where you can really get to know the locals and their ways. The beaches is so beautiful that one could get stuck there for the rest of his/her life. Part of the city / village is all connected in beautiful wave like stairways and shortcuts that all lead up the hill to an castle wall from which you can look out over the whole busy village with its many transit connections of people coming and going. And the beautiful river with ducks and geese is running straight through and gives green life to the place. I would recommend to stay at least a couple of nights there if not longer!
Did some bodyboarding on Xmas day at Arriffana beach. Lunched at O Paulo's another and did the marked trails around town taking in the castle and ending at he super Vazea bistro for lunch on our last day. Aljezur area is a very compact holiday Venue with lots of good information boards in town, tourist office helpful too.

We really enjoyed our stay here. Very friendly owners and a relaxed homely atmosphere. More a quiet chilled getaway type place than a party hostel. The property was very clean, modern and stylish. Nice outside area with a swimming pool and patio. Location is probably better for people with a car but local amenities are nearby. Great stay, thank you Ludo & Carolina :)

It was quiet, relaxing and, if you have a car, in a good location as well. Ms. Alice Apfel was very nice and helpful and always asked if we needed anything. The rooms were big enough and you could spend the day relaxing at the hotel as well. Ms. Apfel is also the nicest hostess we've ever met.

The lovely Eugenia from Argentina is charming. Situation, on the Rota Vicentina, and Aljezur is a fascinating place and situation. Nice castle, street statues, all close so no more walking than was absolutely necessary. Fine mural in the hostel. Good breakfast at the station bar.

Everything was superb. We came because of a recommendation by friends and we our expectations were exceeded. Sophia und Alvaro are such wonderful hosts. Alvaro would be in the kitchen/breakfast room each morning talking to us and the other guests, asking about our day, joking around (especially about the ongoing soccer Worldcup) and helping us out with whatever we needed. He is such a warm and welcoming person as is Sophia. Sophia would make sure to ask us everyday if there was anything we needed. The herdade itself is a gem. They have 5 wonderfully kept little villas on a large green and lush estate - each two stories high, with an oven (for the winter) and a fully equipped kitchen. The villas are beautifully kept and Sophia and her friendly helpers clean them everyday with great care leaving little decorations everywhere. All villas have a terrace in the back overlooking the estate, the pool area and the ocean in the background behind rolling hills. We had such wonderful 10 days enjoying nature, some sightseeing and surfing by day, cooking dinner at night, sitting there at the sunset enjoying the view (or hanging out in our hammock). Alvo gives the best surfing tips. He also taught us how to best start a barbecue using a trick involving pine cones. They have an open kitchen in the backyard where you can prepare your barbecue if you like. He even gifted us a bottle of his favorite wine to enjoy with our barbecue. Also, we fell in love with their three dogs Chuto, Hasca and Cashew - a tiny sweet Jack Russel puppy - and the lovely cats (especially our little Ervilha). We spent time playing with them every day - they almost felt like our own pets by the end of the vacation. We miss them heaps. And they aren't the only animals living at the herdade by the way. It's such a paradise! Alvo is very proud of his flock of chickens and roosters :) He can tell you stories about them reaching back years.

Everything!!! David and Johanna were extremely helpful and created a little piece of paradise for travelers :) Maracuya is literally the last street having in front the neighbor Mr. Oceano ;) House is in a great condition and gives you a lot of possibilities to spend time e.g. pool, common room or even big kitchen.
