If you like a garden, a museum, a church, a fort or two etc...
If you like a garden, a museum, a church, a fort or two etc sight seeing then spend a whole day in and around Angra town. Recommend walk round Monte Brasil close by its very interesting we took half a day walking it. Forget hiring a scooter to see the island we hired a car and spend a full long day driving clockwise round island exploring viewpoints, cave, cheese farm, wine museum, highest volcano mountain etc. Unique island cultural discoveries we made were were seeing cheerfully painted little holy trinity espirito house in every village and watch out for 'Tourada a corda' (bullfight by rope) runs test of manhood - this is big on Terceira. Angra do Heroísmo is one of the most beautiful and peaceful places I have ever been. It is a great place to visit if you enjoy the outdoors, and the views of the ocean and volcanic rock formations are truly unforgettable. I really enjoyed Monte Brasil and I walked EVERYWHERE! There are great museums and churches to visit, and the botanical garden there is so pretty and restful. It is also a great place to visit if you have to budget a bit, as it is really reasonable, and all the restaurants serve delicious food and wine. Angra is extremely clean and there are nice shops and welcoming cafes as well. Everyone that I have met in Angra is so kind and helpful. A compact city that is classified as a World Heritage. It was rebuilt after the 1980 earthquake. It is a city that played a big role in the world history (visited by Colombo and Vasco da Gama) and in the Atlantic Ocean sea routes, Many times attacked by pirates (Francis Drake) and witness of decisive naval battles.Guest review byJoséPortugal

A spacious house of character, modernly finished complete with all necessities. An outdoor table is available on terrace and side balcony where you can enjoy the splendor of Brazil Hill, the Marina and the surrounding area of Angro do Heroísmo! It is neat and tidy with comfy double bed. Mafalda is a very kind nice person. She greeted us personally and gave us all tips required. She was flexible with Check in and out.
