Really hilly.
Really hilly. Though it is a good start for many walks on levadas. Restaurant Viola is the best restaurant in Madeira if you like beef on a steak (espatadas). It is away from the hustle and bustle of Funchal, yet only 20 minutes away by car. It is well located for exploring the surrounding countryside and the charming seaside town of Camara de Lobos. Is is a quiet town but there are some local bars and cafes where you can get a flavour of local life plus sample local drinks and food. Whilst it is possible to get around by bus, a car is a better option as it is much more convenient, but only for those comfortable driving on narrow mountain roads.Guest review byDominiqueUnited Kingdom
