Two weary cyclists arrived for one night. We were delighted! Ines—one of the owners— is warm and welcoming. Our room was splendid—comfortable, lovely, overlooking the beautiful pool. Breakfast was perfect—obrigado Patricia! We liked this beautiful Solar ( a former school where Ines was a schoolgirl—how cool!) so much that we stayed one more night! My friend left for work in Lisboa and I stayed for a third night! One night turned into three because it is so delightful! I have cycled 94,000+km around the world and have stayed at well over 1000+ hotels around the world on every continent except Antarctica—Solar Dos Frades is one of the best! Obrigado Ines! The property is tastefully decorated and furnished, well maintained and sparkly clean, the garden and the pool are idyllic. Breakfast is abundant and delicious, prepared with local products and beautifully presented. We specially enjoyed the company of the owner/ manager. He is very passionate about his business, he made us feel at home since the first moment.

Beautiful landscape and property, pride of ownership clear. Hosts are friendly and respectful, knowledgeable about area. If you love starry skies, quiet countryside, silver olive trees, flowers and a clean and safe place to stay, book here. Oh, and the breakfast was superb!

    A rather small industrial town.

    A rather small industrial town. Some restaurants (most of those are closed) or opens after 18:00 but menu in English is a rarity. Best option is to visit supermarket and cook some dinner in the villa.

    One of the ugliest towns I've visited in Portugal.

    One of the ugliest towns I've visited in Portugal. Besides, plenty of "illegal-looking" foreign guys (you know what I mean), without face-masks, loitering around. Surroundings also flat and ugly. I definitely don't recommend this place.
