We arrived on the day of a festival to celebrate fire...
We arrived on the day of a festival to celebrate fire fighters, and we're presented with a free concert in a square in the town which was magical. The town is small enough to explore easily on foot. Everyone we met was very helpful and friendly. Went up on the cable car with magnificent views, and found a peaceful park where we had a picnic lunch surrounded by magnificent granite boulders.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

A small walkable city with enough sights to see for 2 days. It can be used as a base to visit Braga and Porto and other nearby towns. There are a few supermarkets around to shop for groceries to prepare your meals. We walked from the property to the Sanctuary of Penha, and back, which was up numerous very steep roads but the view from the top was rewarding and worth the torturous climb. It was a great workout. The walk from the train station to this property is about 30 minutes over a steep cobblestone pedestrian walkway which can be a challenge if one has a pull-along luggage bag. A fascinating city with a great feeling of history. Leave at least two days if not more to get a fuller feeling than we were able to in our short visit of a few hours to meet friends. We will definitely come back from the south of Spain to visit.Guest review byMikeMarbellaSpain

The room is spacious, well equipped and comfortable. The price is reasonable. Staff are helpful. I can feel everyone of them is trying to do their best. The staff will explain the attractions with a paper map (although at the end I still google I still appreciate his willingness to help). Everything was super clean, and it felt like we were staying in a hotel, but with a really well equipped kitchen. We were provided with a cot and fresh sheets for our daughter and our own bed was very comfy. The terrace was a nice addition. Location was also perfect.
