I think it was definitely my best vacation ever! White is the best place to take a break from the world. The room is amazing. Breakfast and dinner is great! I loved the location! The staff were just SUPER! I miss that place already. Don't hesitate.

We did not realize we had booked a shared bathroom; however, it worked out well. It was clean and well attended to. It was only shared with one other guest room. Shared kitchen served us well and we had very nice time talking with other guests. The timing of the different guest meal prep worked out naturally well; however, if multiple guests were trying to cook at same time, that would be challenging. LOVELY pool at garden courtyard. Gorgeous setting. Bedroom was basic. Could use some shelf or cabinet space; however, it perfectly met our needs. A lot of outside area to enjoy and there as also an inside living room for relaxing.

Great location. A more local, low key area with easy walking to eat, drink, shop and the aquatic center. It was quite large, clean and comfortable with the floor fans, as we visited in August. The covered clothesline was beneficial due to rain now and then. The owner was super responsive when we had questions.

Absolutely beautiful hotel. Grounds are beautiful with a banana plantation behind the hotel. Free bananas and free pastries on site. Amazing gourmet breakfast with complimentary mimosa. Amazing and welcoming staff who offered complimentary welcome drinks, upgraded our room to a room with a private courtyard, allowed late check out and it offered an honesty bar. Miguel was wonderful! Comfortable bed. Actual walk up rate can be $500 a night in high season. More than a place to sleep - a cool welcoming experience.

    Casas do termo are about 2 km from Lagoa, and we didn't explore this small town well enough. The big Continente supermarket was easy to find (on the road from the motorway). The roads on São Miguel are on the whole very good and the traffic is light. There is a lot of agricultural traffic, however. Using this location as a base, we could easily explore the whole island by car and there are many things worth experiencing (views, villages, Ponta Delgada itself). It's an amazingly lush, green island. We would recommend it!

    The perfect destination for trips around San Miguel Island. From this place, you can reach each end of the island in about 1 hour by car, and the northern part of the island in about 20 minutes by car.

    Lagoa is a quiet town in the middle of Sao Miguel.

    Lagoa is a quiet town in the middle of Sao Miguel. It is a perfect location to stay in during your time on the island. The highway is close by and every spot on the island is reachable in under an hour. The town itself is not very interesting but I would recommend the community pools (Piscina de Lagoa) for a nice swimming day and the beachfront walkway for stunning views. Locals where not the most friendly people we encountered, but maybe that has to do with our time of travel (late may, beginning of june), just before the tourist season begins.

    Nice small town strategically situated in the middle of the Southern coast. 17 min drive from the Ponta Delgada airport. Lagoa has some amazing restaurants, small beach, even a volcanology museum that one must visit!
