Built on seven hills facing the Tagus River, charming Lisbon is one of the oldest cities in the world. It showcases unique tram rides, intimate Fado performances, great dining venues and much more.
The city is famous for its districts: Belem's famous monuments; Alfama's labyrinth of streets, bars and small shops; and trendy Alcantara's docks. Lisbon’s most popular nightlife and shopping venues are in Bairro Alto, while the traditional heart of the city beats rhythmically in Baixa.
Enjoy a walk through Jardim Botanico, admire the architecture of the Jeronimos Monastery or explore the Feira da Ladra flea market. The Chiado area serves the city's best traditional Portuguese cuisine. No meal is complete without the famous pasteis de nata!
Getting to the city center is only a metro or bus ride from Lisbon Portela Airport. Whether you want a luxury hotel, a friendly guesthouse or a cozy apartment, Booking.com has plenty of accommodations for your vacation in Lisbon.
Lisbon is lovely and quite varied from the narrow streets...
Lisbon is lovely and quite varied from the narrow streets and lovely bars and street restaurants of Barro Alto to the wide open plazas and squares of the chic Moorish quarter. The only downside is the persistent and aggressive drug dealers in the Pink street area. They get very aggressive and pushy and if the catch you alone you get surrounded and mugged for your cash. Two of our group were targeted. According to our local tour guide the police turn a blind eye as the drug dealers are an organised gang and “keep an eye on the area” for the police.
My advice if you want night life is to steer clear of pink street and go to Barro Alto. If you do go to Pink Street go in a group and DO NOT interact with the drug dealers and street hustlers

A tourist place you must visit is Alfama, need to walk uphill to view the beautiful scenery of Lisbon from the top hill. Then, you can walk down the street to the next tourist place, such as a castle, plaza, or port. It is very easy to get around Lisbon by walking or Metro.

Lisbon is a vibrant city with much to explore, friendly people & easy access to sightseeing destinations such as Sintra & Cascais. Transportation is good- regular trams, trains & metro. Lisbon is steeped in history, with soulful Fado music at its heart. There are so many places to eat or pause in one of the many squares with a coffee or a beer and watch the world go by. It’s hilly and the cobbled streets can be slippy so good, grippy shoes are essential. We love the narrow streets of Alfama, the many viewpoints of the city and the beautiful, ornate churches. Lisbon has captured our hearts.

The hills are steep. A. Beautiful city steeped in history.
The hills are steep. A. Beautiful city steeped in history. Beware of queues for the main attractions. Go early as coach loads arrive mid morning onwards. Sintra is well worth a visit but becomes crowded and we found it difficult to do sightseeing there from our lack of planning. We are not trying to say take an organised tour there but you need to be aware that visiting the main attractions such as the fort at the very top for instance. The ubiquitous tuk tuks probably an option, no idea what they charge. You cannot sensibly walk the main attractions
Again, Needs advance planning.

Good restaurants at reasonable prices, friendly people, good travel options and fantastic weather in September. Visited the Castelo, and Belem attractions, Tram 28 is a must. We took the train to Cascais for a beach day. Cocktails on roof also fun. Then driving to Porto…..
We booked 2 beds in a 4 room dorm which was our best decision to book in The centre house Lisbon. Rooms were so cute clean and modern . Very spacious and beautiful. Loved my stay , staff was amazing, helpful. It felt like staying in a luxury hotel/ hostel.
Everything was perfect for us, our roommates were amazing. The hostel had really good vibes and the best thing is its right in the centre . Everything is around it. I wish to go back again to lisbon and stay the same place. I highly recommend it.
I arrived at the hotel three hours late after being stuck in the immigration queue at Europe's worst airport, Lisbon. At nearly 1am, the staff were amazing, and a very welcome sight. The room was really nice, breakfast was available from 4am, which was important as I wanted to get back to the airport at least 4 hours early. Location was perfect. Less than 5 minutes walk to Terminal 1. One of my best hotel experiences for quite some time.
The hotel room was comfy and spacious. Had a balcony with furniture outside with the best view of the city. If you're looking for a place to stay away from crowded and noisy Lisbon, this is the place. Quite close to the airport and the city center.
The room itself was really clean and they provided free bottled water to drink every day which is not the same in the other two hotels that I stayed in Portugal(Faro and Albufeira).
This hotel leans to the more "budget" friendly offerings in Lisbon, and for the price, you get excellent value here. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Hotel was clean, and in a great location downtown and close to the airport. I had to leave earlier than the breakfast was offered, but the staff offered to pack a small breakfast for me in a bag to take with me in the morning. Marta is the best!!!
Everything it is the best hotel i stayed in very clean rooms comfortable and big good location and the staff was great help with everything and breakfast was perfect i love it planning to stay there again for sure it should be a 5 star hotel
Thanks for making our stay perfect
