What sets it apart is a great river beach (praia fluvial); its closeness to the Parque da Serra da Estrela, an easy 20-minute drive; and it's less busy than other more popular towns. Driving through Loriga's streets can be a daunting experience if you are not used to very narrow streets and steep slopes.
